I made a load of patches for this (over 50) and a fair few were included in the final released bank but there was only room for so many so I had a lot left. With Rozzer's permission I have made most of these into an extra bank of 21 presets. It will of course only work with the HQS1 soundset :) Bit of a mixed bag but several are in line with some of the horror and sci-fi inspired presets I made for the original bank including more Blade Runner like stuff. Also lots of plucked and evolving pad sounds and a few weird ones (one inspired by the sequence in "L'enfant et les sortilages" by Ravel where the child enters the nighttime garden and encounters a moth and other creatures of the night).

Just saw this now and downloaded. Nice work! :-)

You did some unique sounding moody/brooding patches. They're full of 'attitude', sort of like taking a walk in the bad part of town after dark!

BTW-Miles Beyond? That wouldn't be Miles Davis, would it? The patch sounds like some of Mile's electronic albums from the early 70's like Silent Way, Bitches Brew, On the Corner.

The only negative comment that I'd make is that there aren't more presets of this type!

Cheers

Thanks.

Yes - Miles beyond is a Miles Davis inspired patch. Every now and then a stab of horn breaks out from the brooding bassy background. EVE is the only synth I know that can do this sort of subtle stuff with layers that make it sound like more than one instrument.

Oh and several others are Mahavishnu Orchestra/John McGaughlin inspired.

I did 50 or so altogether, the other 30 odd are already in the original bank.

Aha! So my ears aren't totally shot!

Hearing what you did with this stuff gives new respect and opens up some interesting possibilities for ol' Eve! 8)

Damn! Should have caught that. Been a while since I listened to Birds of Fire! :)

How are they marked? What initials? Thanks.

All the SW ones are mine as are a few of the demos on the HQS page :)

I nearly forgot - I did a tune with that Miles patch a while ago. I didn't post it at the time as I wasn't really happy with my playing - it was just a musical doodle really - but it might serve to demo the sound.

liqih, getting this extra fxb by amused has brought up a question in EVE ...running the updated 1.4a now...

here goes:

this is an fxb... a standard 'cubase' saved bank... and I can load it into EVE ok. I would like to be able to then have EVE save it as an EVE bnk file, so that it would show up like the factory bank or the other 'official' banks.

I tried to take the blank bank, rename it to 'amused.bnk, and load it into EVE and then to load the amused fxb, and then to have EVE Save Bank... but EVE seems to want to save it as 'Factory' no matter what I do...

There is a tool now to take a folder of fxp's and make them into a single fxb... but there seems to be no clear way inside EVE to load a fxb and have EVE resave it as her own native bnk file format.

What am I missing??? Thanks for some help on this.

It would be nice to save as an EVE bank instead of fxb.

EVE cannot save BNK files so far,but since you asked
I'm working on a simple tool to convert an EVE FXB to an EVE BNK file, tomorrow you should have it, <grin>

just wanna be sure that it's very easy to use
then I'll upload it,

it should be: put the tool in the folder where you have the FXB, double click on tool, enter the name of the FXB files you wanna convert, and it's done!

the EVE BNK file will be created,

BTW very nice playing in your Miles Beyond track,
really loved the mood,
just a tiny critic or question, all sounds seems to have the same sweeping attack, is it for it's the same patch played?
