Thank you very much for the info. Im a beginner and have Fred Welsh's Synth Cookbook, however I cannot find a host that will accept his synth that he recommends as well as the Freak(a)scope. Any suggestions? My computer uses Windows 64 and the driver is the Asio4v2. I do have Mulab, but it will not recognize the plug-ins.

What version number of Mulab are you using? Is it 32bit or 64bit? What is the synth - is it a VST instrument? Is it 32bit or 64bit?

Mulab 6 free version. 64bit I believe, not good with computers here. The synth is the SCB-1, I do believe it is VST. Fred Welsh told me that the synth was compatible with 64.

What does the scan log say? To see the scan log, do MULAB menu -> Manage VST Plug-Ins -> Add Plug-Ins -> then browse for that synth you wanna add.

I understand that now, no 32 bit plugins into my 64 bit computer, thanks. So could I put a 32 bit host such as mulab 32 bit into my 64 bit computer?

Yes, no problem. And it will work equally well. You would only need the 64 bit version of MuLab if you would use large sample libraries which take more than 2 GB of RAM. Also note that you can have both MuLab 32 bit and MuLab 64 bit installed in separate folders on the same 64 bit computer, no prob.
