I'm not sure if i installed this properly :help:
I have a Mikro Mk2
I placed the "maschine4bitwig-master" folder under the "controller scripts" folder
clicked "detect available controllers" in bitwig preferences, no detectable controllers were found. so i added the maschine mikro mk2 controller manually.
and now the controller doesn't seem to be doing anything.

I don't know if i missed anything because i can't read the "read me" file on a mac.
Would appreciate any help, thanks.

Bitwig v1.1.6
Mac OS X 10.9.3

Sorry, I saw your post the other day but wasn't in the position to answer.

I know I have said it about 8 times now but, the Mikro needs more testing on my part.

I don't think I ever had controller self discovery stuff working, so in my setups, you always need to add it manually.

So can you reiterate what is actually the problem, I am all ears.

I am just unfamiliar with the installation process of a script on Bitwig.
I placed the "maschine4bitwig-master" folder in the "controller script" folder but the controller does not seem to be working at all after I add it manually in Bitwig.

Not sure what I did wrong.

Mac OS X 10.9.3
Bitwig 1.1.6

You may want to scan back in this thread because I could swear there was another person on Mac that had this same problem.

My problem right now is I am in total programming mode for my business and I don't even have the Maschines hooked up to my computer right now. I am in mobile app dev mode.

So it's not until mid April that I can get back to these scripts and finish them up.

Cool, I just wanted to make sure I installed it properly. Not sure why I have no communication between my device and Bitwig. I'll try some things and post the solution if I find it.

BTW nice profile pic, lateralus is one of the greatest albums ever created.. imo

I installed 2.2 and magically the communication is working now!

Bob, did you do anything else to get it to to work? I have maschine 2.2 as well but no luck.
I'm not on the studio though, just mikro.

Hi TeotiGraphix,

Just a quick "Thank you" for your great work. I ve read everything about the Mikro MKII issues and hope you ll find some time to complete the project (fingers crossed Bitwig jumps in, too). Suppose there ll be much more interest in your work as Bitwig starts to gain market share.

Mike,

Thank you so much for all your work on this script. It's working pretty well over my way with a MK2 on 1.1.6.

I am however having a couple issues, I figured I would put them here. Hopefully these aren't redundant requests, I'm sorry if they are.

1. When I am in any mode, Pattern, Scene, Navigate , Etc (haven't found a mode where this doesn't happen) and I hit a Pad (to trigger a pattern or whatever), it plays a note on whatever instrument is placed on the track I have selected. This happens with both all of my tracks. Also happens when I have the drum track selected (which is just the drum container) and it'll play whatever sample I have loaded in a slot. I assume this is a known issue because I see it happen in a couple of the videos online.

2. When I play an instrument in IN Key mode it plays multiple notes, no matter what scale layout I have. It works find in Chromatic Mode. It's a strange function too.

E.x. If I have sequectial ^ selected (key of C Major), and I play
C1 it just plays C1.
Play D1, it plays D1 and C#1.
Play E1, it plays E1 and D1.
Play F1, it plays F1 and D#1.
G1, G1 and E1.
A1, A1 and F1.
B1, B1 and F#1.
C2, C2 and G1.
D2, D2 and G#1.
E2, E2 and A1.
F2, F2 and A#1.
G2, G2 and B1.
A2, A2 and C2.
B2, B2 and C#2
C3, C3 and D2.

Hopefully that makes sense. It happens with both 3rd party VSTs and Bitwig instruments.

If you have any questions about my bug or want me to test anything, I would be happy to do it. I am going to look through the .js files and see if I can find anything obvious, but I'm not the best with javascript.

Again thank you so much for this script. Its going to make Bitwig even more of a power house.

Dan

Hey!

1. Yes this is a know issue that I know how to fix, I am not clearing the note map to -1 natively, so although the script thinks you are just selecting a track, Bitwig is getting a note on message. :)

2. This is odd and news to me. I haven't updated the script since December, so something might have changed in the framework.

Good news to anybody that uses this script! I am back, finally. I am pretty much caught up with my business stuff, so I am intent on completing these scripts now. :)

That said, if there is ANYTHING that bugs you, PLEASE post here! I am willing to rethink anything if it's better workflow for you guys.

In the after April 11th(my BD) I will be back with the Git updates. ;-)

Unfortunately my paid work has to come first. I thought I would have time last month but it just didn't happen. I have to have free time to put into this script.

I can tell you this, the fact that my Maschine Studio pad lights do not work correctly on Windows with Bitwig has been a major factor for me not "finding" time to work on this script, neither Bitwig or NI have figured it out.

Think about it, one of your favorite controllers doesn't work, that you use all the time, how much incentive will you have to work when it's free open source development.
