sadly i got no reaper to test :(

What's the main difference between them?
i recommend it to you really, i made some great experimental rhythms, even wicked sounds with delay etc.
i switch off the Beat and Bass function, only using the slicing and with all random options etc. it is awesome. i guess for genres like edm it is even more awesome! i got it for 40 bucks, i wouldnt pay 100 though ;D

sorry I am late for the party.....

Can you drag a sample loop to Egoist and then let it do the slicing ? Right now, I found that it can only allow me to use the "Load" approach to load the loops.

http://www.reaper.fm/ <- Fully functional "demo".. Discounted license cheap as soap (60$). It really needs time and dive-in to get the buttons right but it's worth the hassle. For example I have some most needed buttons in places like slice in s (default key actually), normalize in n, reverse in r, zoom to item in ¨ etc.. Everything is extremely fast.

Of course it's not the same than "toss sample here and let the plugin do the work" :P

Process is more like "drag sample here, right click -> add stretch marks, right click -> slice from stretch marks" then you can quickly re-arrange, reverse, stretch (which egoist can't do), add pitch envelopes etc.
