I'm sure id like the video ghosting feature fixed. You know the one that only applies to this programme. That drags the GUI for ANY plug in i use all over both screens.
Or the melodyne being out of time despite being at maximum buffer on an i7 with 16gb ram.
Or T4 now just poofing when i close it since loading 5 and 6.
Or all my waves plugs not working or having their names recognised properly.
Yeah, remove all those features.

Youre asking for a button that gives an option to put the new track at the top or the bottom right?
When its always been at the bottom.
If its important to people, then fair enough.

Ts claim to fame is its simplicity, too much loading of extra buttons and features that perhaps nobody gives 2 figs about, or didn't know that they gave 2 figs about, could MAYBE begin to dilute the message, is all im saying.
I'm just a tad cheesed off with the amount of hoiking around i've done with my hardware to make this version of T useable for me right now.
I still dont feel i can trust T with a days recording at the moment.
Its all over the place for me.
T3 was the most stable, useable, iteration of this software for me.

Erm, no. At the moment, it isn't always created at the bottom. That's the point. In some case it's created at the bottom, but if a track is highlighted or if you right-click a track and create from that sub-menu, then it's not created at the bottom.

So all we were aiming for was to understand where it gets created, and someone suggested it should be below rather than above a track in the circumstances when it isn't added at the bottom.

And then it occurred to me that if you're using tagging to restrict the number of tracks you're dealing with, but then create a new track to go with the ones you're looking at, it won't appear among them, so then you have to go off and find it and tag it so it will.

I may be missing something, but it seems that's exactly what happened.

I am sure there are some complicated issues in Tracktion, and I can understand your frustration, but I don't believe that should take away from them doing simple 'pin-prick' things to make a better DAW while they work on the more important stability stuff.

I place my new tracks where I want them by highlighting the track below where I want them to appear. As soon as I learned how it works I just started using it that way and got on with it.

For example you have tracks 4, 5 and six and you want the new track(s) to appear between 4 and 5, so you highlight 5 and create the new track. Things are less complicated for me because I only use T and it is easier to just learn how it works and use it as it is.

It will always be a struggle for TSC to keep new features and functions from bloating the DAW. On the other hand I love the fact that they do respond to a lot of user requests for features even while they are up to their ears fixing bugs and making T compatible with 10,000 different plugins from 20,000 different vendors.

Roll on Tracktioneers. Roll on TSC.

Hmmm... with the "create below selected track" it will now be really clumsy to create a new "top" track. With the "create before" default, you could create a new track anywhere.

Maybe this should be a user preference setting? (Above or below on insert track...).
