I have never heard any more realistic emulations of large/low church bells as the 2 created by Howard Scarr for ACE (I believe they are called Church Bells and Bells of Westminster - or similar names). None of those in Zebra come close (and I also have his Science soundset) The only other preset I know of that sounds equally realistic is the first preset in Harm Visser's BellCollection for Tassman: http://www.hvsynthdesign.com/tassman.php
These presets (HS's in ACE and Visser's for Tassman) sound almost like real samples of bells.
Do you think it would be possible to create something similar in Zebra (I'm not that skilled at sound design)
Maybe I'll just buy ACE for those 2 presets...
Church bell preset in Zebra?

Hans' & Howie's rendition of the St. Peter's bell for "Angels and Demons" is certainly a milestone in synthesis. It wasn't possible to do a proper recording because of the inevitable background noises. It's actually two presets, supposed to be played together in two separate instances of Zebra. I hope that one day we can provide a glimpse at those patches, not just for the sake of the bells but also for the choir sounds.
(I think I need to watch the movie again…)

I just started using 2 x instances of Zebra2 with FMOs hoping to make a TX816 EPiano sound I used years back.
Also needed a Bell I couldn't find, so I guess I was on the right track doubling up the instances.

I'm actually more proud of the ACE preset "HS Bells of Westminster" these days. Getting the most out of limited resources is very satisfying... and that's what also makes Hive so much fun
