Sorry for the noob question but does Mulab or Mux have a built in step sequencer to use...? Can't remember if there is.

Not yet the typical 'vintage style' step sequencer, but MUX does have a sequence player module with which you can get similar and more results. A more traditional step sequencer module will be added too, it's in initial research and design phase, parallel to other muworks.

You made me curious...
Here you go:
Inserting external HW.jpg
All the red/orange parts are audio, the blue stuff is midi.
It all reminds me of my old Cubase with midi and audio tracks separate. Now i know where that comes from.

I have 4 mono audio in for my PerFourMer and one stereo in for the Microwave.
You can process all audio returns as you like in those audio racks.
For midi I use regular sequences. I added the channel remapper just because they were used in my original post.
All works nicely!

Some remarks:
I usually have a limiter VST in the master rack. That stops midi to pass through! So I either pack the limiter in a MUX with an event bypass or I opt for a midi master rack, or route midi directly to the midi outs in the session Mux.

And there IS a delay!
My system is using a RME interface with 256 samples and a Rolad A880 midi patcher. I checked with a kick synth in the kick midi rack and i get the audio delayed by 17.9msec compared to the Musynth kick. That seems to be consistent and a fixed delay can be used for all internal synth.

Edit: I just took out the midi patcher and the delay is only down to 17.2msec. Quite surprising that the A880 has such a low latency.
