Great! But it's not in the list of "Hired products" in my account yet – only 2.0b and 2.2 so far…

It's weird but you actually have to "buy" it as per the instructions in the Email. That was how I upgraded yesterday.

Wow... Nora is on the market since June 2014 (v1, not beta!), v2 came December 2014, v2.2 in February 2015. now we're already at v2.5. At this pace, we'll be on v3 short past Musikmesse 2015 (mid April).squaredheads wrote:We called it 2.5 due to the incredible improvement in its output "sound". It will be avaliable for our registered users next week. The demo versions + official release will be delayed few days (we have to create the demo versions).BasariStudios wrote:In Demo Mode you don't have Harmonizer, Randomizer and few other things i guess.
A question, is 2.3 update out yet?
Don't know what to think of that development "speed" to be honest.

The new feature sound really great. If a pitch can set, maybe can be also helpfull to change sounds that have more articulations and can switch with a low note key. so can use in a arp sequence some notes with mute, legato, staccato sounds. The key switches are mostly at very low notes.

Indeed, squaredheads wrote:Nora 2.5 has been released. Please update in http://www.squaredheads.com and enjoy pitch feature, it's really powerful!
So much so I advised a good friend to download your demo just to try that feature sadly though its completely crippled.
I just downloaded the demo myself out of curiosity and can confirm that the pitch feature isn't operational or its completely non interactive.
I really can't see the point in compiling a special demo version that includes features that can't possibly be used.
As much as I hate time limited demos or popup boxes that kill every ounce of inspiration I think they are preferable to teasing users with powerful features that they will never get the chance to try unless they take a leap of faith and purchase the full product.
Perhaps you could clearly state what features are crippled in the demo beneath the download icon to avoid any possible disappointment?
Having said the above the latest Nora update is awesome with loads of improvements that aren't initially obvious.
Good job!

Well, at the moment we only have only one product and our focus is only on it. And, thanks to our experience as coders in other projects, Nora is really well planned to allow quick modifications. So, think good thingsCompyfox wrote:Wow... Nora is on the market since June 2014 (v1, not beta!), v2 came December 2014, v2.2 in February 2015. now we're already at v2.5. The individual note relative pitches, is impressive. It allow more techniques to build complex melodies with multiple articulations with minimal effort. I know I'm talking about my own product, but I do it because I'm the first one spending hours and hours making music easily, thank to this feature and others, like randomizer/quantizer. Being creative never wasn't as easy as it is now!
Sorry for inconvenience, but, some good news, we have re-updated the demo version. Now the demo allows to modify the pitches like the full version does.kurodo wrote:I just downloaded the demo myself out of curiosity and can confirm that the pitch feature isn't operational or its completely non interactive.

Yeah, I get that. But recently, this is giving me mixed signals.squaredheads wrote:Well, at the moment we only have only one product and our focus is only on it. A lot of companies shrunk their release cycles down to insane time frames and constantly ask for money in return in order to get an "upgrade". Which scares me away as user of their tools. And which is why I showed the major release dates to substantiate my point.
As of this moment, the upgrade from NORA v1 to v2 was free, probably due to the fast development. But how will you go from there? What if I jump on NORA v2.5 now and in like 3 weeks you'll release v3 already? What about those that bought NORA v2.x around the time that v2.2 hit?
I really don't want to be milked off of my hard earned money, especially if I have to restart from scratch or only scratch the surface with every new update.

Compyfox -- I understand what you're saying, but it's flawed thinking. Sorry.
Would you prefer that they slow down development so that you get a longer use period for your money, with less functionality? Does that feel like better value to you?
You can always stick with whatever version you wish, without paying extra. As far as I can tell, there's no brokenness or bug-fixes that people are having to pay for here.

That is not the point here. Development should never stop IMO.
What kind of doesn't swing with me currently, is companies that develop something like mad, and shove out paid updates within a too short period of time.
Maybe I'm just spoiled with companies that do "free for live" updates, or companies like Spectrasonics where you pay a load of money, but get .dot updates/upgrades until they reach .9.9.999 compared to .0 and .5 every half a year to a year.

Nora is worth much more than what Squaredheads charges for it.
Nora even beat Omnisphere 2 with the per step pitch adjustment. Omni 2 will have that in its new arp, but it wasn't available before.

I agree with GreyLion and Musical Gym. I love this pace of development. One is not obligated to ride on this thoroughbred at top speed. It ok to be a bystander if you like for financial or any other reason.GreyLion wrote:Compyfox -- I understand what you're saying, but it's flawed thinking. Sorry.

Dear ol' Compy – as grumpy as ever.
KVR wouldn't be half as amusing without you.
