It gets boring seeing the same old avatar/signature

Why don't you change it every other year?

I remember a day when KVR didn't have avatars...I try to continue representing that time period by not having an avatar.

My signature doesn't get changed often because it does what I need it to. Also: I don't care enough to change it.

I have avatars and sigs blocked. Change them as often or little as you like. They dont interest me.

Isn't the whole point of a signature in that sense, suppose to show a sameness that really never changes so that it is easily always identifiable with whatever it is correlated with?

If it always changes then it ceases to stay "signature".

I don't consider my avatar to be a necessary element to interacting on forums. I use one just to find my posts in a thread easier (when I'm looking to see what's new or whatever).
