Welcome back Simon :) Some great stuff there - are those all being driven by the same drum loop?
Thank's Nik, it's not a drumloop, but a physically modelled synth sound playing a repeating sequence.
Very astonishing...

...while the presets seems to respect the rythmical structure of the source, as sound source i would have much more imagined a steel-band instead !

Still listening yet...

in a composing process I would by instinct easily add here steel-bands (from pianoteq for instance), bell-trees, celeste or glockenspiels...all having much structural or timbral similarities with the processed signal of this example...

As the image in the input module is rhythmically structured (have a look at the vertical grid lines) there is of course a rhythmic/temposynced relation between input source and input module.

here are some of my JI tuning experiments
these are designed as harmonic building block tools with most working best with simple line based images
many have only one interval
you may end up speaking with dolphins in your dreams with excessive use :ud:
I think John C. Lilly would have approved

use them with A432 and you'll soon be just like this

Amongst many other nice instruments (more info here) I also recorded some glass chimes over the weekend:

and just now I processed them in KS using two fresh images I made last night with ArtMatic.

A highly relaxing experiment this was...

Happy to be now an owner of all 2caudio products..... but please don't release another piece of amazing software soon.

Pretty!

I really wish I could get more into this but it still brings my MacMini to its knees. I was planning to get a MacPro but tbh I'm holding off because I strongly suspect they will bring a new model out this year with the new Intel chips.

Stepping through Kaleidoscope presets from the same family using various images I made with ArtMatic and Photoshop, using only the the internal noise generator to excite the generators and suspended tuning files - no thirds: no minor/major - to pitch-quantize the resonances.

When programming KS very often one idea yields the next on, then at some point you might return to the initial starting point, then you take a different junction from where it takes you somewhere totally different, then reality calls you back to where you physically are sitting in front of your computer and you end up with a bunch of lovely presets :)

Is the reverb added?

Sure, it's Shimmer, KS doesn't have a reverb, but you knew that before you asked :)

Thanks, I was curious as to how it sounded dry since I just started to get to know KS a little bit. I didn't know that it doesn't have reverb.

During the video I adjust the reverb return, so sometimes it sounds more dry, sometimes more wet.

Thanks, I was wondering whether adding/subtracting partials or some other attribute might create some kind of innate reverb; I'll find out.
