Thank you! I'm trying to figure out is there a demand for such kind of things.
cryophonik wrote:Wow, these are really cool. I've tried to make something like these many times using different methods, but never get results this good. Unfortunately, I don't have After Effects and can't really justify that cost for the occasional YouTube vid, but they are cool.
Thanks! Of course using AE for occasional videos isn't worth it. Btw, I can render any of these visualizations with your track. And it's much cheaper than buying AE 8) Actually, you can get up to 5 min video for $5 only. Check my profile on Fiverr https://www.fiverr.com/soundvisible

Very interesting stuff.
Is any of the stuff you are working with capable of working in real-time, or does it all need to be rendered?

Thanks! This stuff is done in After Effects, so it has to be rendered. I hope to master vvvv or processing for making real-time visuals someday.

i love music visualization. Your effects are really eyecandy.

Actually i write a visualization software in my spare time that can do both, realtime and rendering frames for videos. Of course, i can't compete with these amazing 'After Effects'-effects due to complicated math and these things.

But it's a lot of fun.

Highlights of my first Version is a simple physic-based colored quads visualization or a luminescence-earthworm. You can find them on my youtube channel easily:

Right now i'm on Version 2 that will be more flexible (you can change/fade any visualization-setting time or event based) and add more graphic effects like user defined offscreen renderings and 3D (as long as i don't shipwreck at the shadow-render-path).

Although my first version is really (really!) not user friendly you can still get it on my project page here:
http://www.weltfalt.de/soundbild (http://www.weltfalt.de/soundbild)
i didn't update this version for a while now, because i wanted to change so many things that i decided to start from scratch for my second Version. And i'll need some (many) more months till first release.

I hope you don't mind that i jumped in your thread!

Hey, I didn't get an email notification and missed your post. Pretty interesting thing, thanks for sharing. What kind of software do you use for the development?

I make another attempt to dig into vvvv these days. I really eager to make some real-time audio visualizations and may be even interactive some day.

This is nice, fairly cheap and loads freeframe plugins, GLSL shaders and supports Spout (like rewire for visuals)

Best of all its modular

These visualizers are pretty enough, but I'm really not sure what the point is. When listening to music, I would find that these graphics distract me from focusing on the actual music. Otherwise, I would prefer to watch an actual music video. Maybe there is an audience for this sort of thing, but I tend to think it would be more along the lines of real-time visualizer plugins for Winamp and not pre-rendered movies.

Also, I pretty much live and work in After Effects every day of my life. I know exactly how each of these were made, so that kind of sucks all the magic out of it for me. Lol...
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Hi, i develop in d, a not so well known language between c++, java and c#. The OpenGL-API for graphics, OpenAL for audio and VisualD as IDE (development environment).

i just released my first 3D attempt:

The connection between audio and visuals is a little bit magic to my mind. In my younger days i watched these winamp plugins for hours. And creating them is a lot fun (ehm, sometimes frustration, too).

Hi, I hadn't heard of this language before. Nice piece, but I'd add more light to it. Keep it up!

This visualizer is done in After Effects. No plugins have been used, except Optical Flares.
