Hi,

I am having an issue with using Thesys as a VMI (virtual Midi input) in Forte 4. I am having a problem when the first note-on message is sent to Thesys to start the pattern sequencer there is a slight 1-2 second delay before playback starts. However, after I turn the initial note off and back on the Thesys sequencer triggers right away the second time and continues to work fine unless I restart Forte. It always happens when I send the very first note-on to start the thesys pattern sequencer and never happens again unless i restart Forte. It also seems to happen even by just pressing the start/play button on the thesys pattern sequencer during the first playback in Forte . After the play button has been pressed on/off one time the playback triggers right away as expected. I have tried Kirnu Cream as a VMI triggering the same synths and it's sequencer doesn't exhibit this start delay problem. Is there is something that I might be overlooking in the settings of thesys that could be causing this? I have the trigger set to "note-on" using the pattern start with a note-on command at C1. I am trying to use it live to trigger a midi backing track in the middle of a song so it must be in time when I trigger it from my midi pedal. I just was hoping that I could fix this issue so I wouldn't have to be toggling the play button in Thesys to get it to work right when I'm at a gig. I really do like the layout of thesys and hope I can get it to work.
Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

Joel

Hi Joel,

I've tested it here and it works as it should. Do you have the same problem in the standalone version of Thesys?
First, I would recommend to download and install the latest version of Thesys again.
If it still doesn't work, please let me know some more details about your exact setup
(maybe with some screenshots) or even a project file to reproduce this issue.

Best,
Nadine
