I love Rolands SH-101 "PLUG-OUT plugin" (or whatever I'm supposed to call it), but obviously, it won't work with Tracktion.
Are you guys planning on making T6 and the 101 work with each other? It would have been sooo amazing.

But yes, I've tried to make it work a lot of times, but no dice. And from what I understand, the plugin isn't as user friendly as other plugins. For example, it refused to work with Ableton Live until recently, when Roland upgraded the plugin.

SH101 working here on OSX but it's CPU hungry, as on other DAW Logic, Live, Reaper.
There are other SH101 like plugins worth to look for.

I can compare with my real SH101 and the sound it not as deep, as will never a soft sound the same than a hard synth.
I find it also limited in features compared with lush 101 or Tal bassline, and the CPU usage is a showstopper for me.

Oh, you have the real SH101?! That's so cool; I love that synthesizer (and has always wanted it, but my wallet refuse to let go).
Actually, I suspected it didn't sound quite as good as the real thing (you're not the first one stating this), but since I can't compare myself, I'm deeply satisfied with what comes out through my monitors via the plugin.
How do you like the System-1, if you don't mind me asking? Sometimes I get the feeling I'm the only one actually enjoying that machine. People are being very hard on it, both on how it look and sound.

I don't like the filter behavior, when I turn the filter knob, I can hear the sound is scaled.
The UI could have been better from such a big company as Roland (maker of the SH101).
Lush 101 UI is better.
And as I said, the CPU usage is too heavy.
And honnestly, I don't use at all my SH101, it lays quielty on the attic with is brothers TB303, TR909 and TR808. I keep them as collectors but not to make music !
Sometimes I take one out of the attic to remember how the real think sounds and to turn that knobs and sliders and for the fun, but it is very rare.
I can find several softs which sounds quite the same, only purists could hear a difference.
I prefer to use the soft, even if it does not sound exactly the same, it's far more convenient to use : total recall, no more need of a CV to midi converter, no mess of wires connected to my mackie mixers, no sync issue, no fixing ...

Apropos of hardware versus software, I must admit I am a bit ambivalent. I totally agree that it is sooo much more convenient to work with a plugin. On the other hand, I don't really feel that that's a good thing; at least not for me. Anytime I get everything served, my mood for creativity kinda goes down the drain. I kinda need the hassle. I have also noticed that turning real buttons instead of just adjusting Automation Parametrers in some DAW also has a nice creativity kick to it. (But, in this 101 case, since I don't have the actual 101, the plugin of course is better than nothing.)
But, you know, to each his own, of course!

you can assign a midi controller to your plugins, et voila ! it's like turning the real knobs on the real keyboards, and the vibe comes back.
