Sampler question...

Is there a way to wire up the sampler as a multi-out with racks??? Seems like there would be a way, but I can't figure it out... Or maybe it should be multi-out anyway? That would be helpful... (Sampler doesn't seem to be dropping the first note for some reason lately... what the?)

I'll take that as a no... And you're right if I used multiple samplers, I wouldn't need to do a multi-out, but it would be nice...

theres sort of a way
you can pan hard left and hard right and use the two mono outs
hope this helps
ps there is another way but it involves one of the most advanced audio algorythmns going and it splits sound based on there pan position
but i dont think you gonna find a plug to do it

I'm using the sampler for all drums now... since I seem to have figured out this Loop problem... so I'm making presets of BDs, snares, hates, etc. But it would be nice if the sampler was beefed up in it's capabilities... multi out, filter, and maybe an ADSR...

Yeah the Tracktion sampler is nowhere near what I need for drums. I did use it a few times just playing around . I stuck 3 samplers in one rack with one sampler for kicks, snares, and the last one for hihats. I sorta had multiple outsDHR53 wrote:I'm using the sampler for all drums now... since I seem to have figured out this Loop problem... so I'm making presets of BDs, snares, hates, etc......

I guess that would reduce the track total... Hmmm... Seems on the Mac side nothing but Battery will work with the racks... (and I hate to buy another drum machine) I finally got LMIV to work, (RMIV still MIA) but it's too much of a hassle to build up all new kits, since most of the old ones are pretty much straight drums, which I have no use for myself... I like weird noises and whatever... Samplers will do, just have to experiment a little more...

Not to take anything away from Tracktion, which is an awesome package, and I love it...
But the Sampler has always been one of its weakest links, and I for one couldn't be bothered making maps for it. I'm waiting to see what (if anything) happens in v2, or what (definitely something!) the eXT one will be like.
In the meantime, I don't know if you were aware, but sfz now allows you to map .wav files in a fairly robust way, using the 'sfz' format. It's no longer just a soundfont player. It might be worth checking out!
[edit: still not mult-out, though!]

Yea, sounds good, (on my PC that is...) OSX is the beast I'm wrestling with... So the sampler will have to do...

Rack Bitz-- not really much of a method to learning about the sampler in eXT. It's just a recurring topic in some of the threads here, and in the old WebMassiva forum. There is code for it already, as it was almost accidentally included in the last release; so, just keep checking the eXT update pages and it'll show up sooner (much sooner) than later.
As for features, I'm not really all that certain, but Jorgen has quite the imagination, so I bet there will be some cool stuff going on.
