Of course, it just sounds very machine like spelling it out :borg: :D

Hey, I might actually pick this one up....though I hope someday that Xils goes away from the iLok...

Post

It's good, but it's missing that high frequency juicyness

Post

Is it compatible with Synthix/Syn'X presets?

I believe the miniSyn'X is protected with serial . For the bigger synths I think they've also eLicenser as an alternative to iLok.

Sounds pretty good ... a little CPU intensive on some patches. Crashed Live after about 10 minutes.

Try with single mode if you are low on CPU.

Great price. Should sell like hot cakes (or sin+sex)
Yes the Syn'X is much more complex, it's an analog monster.

The MiniSyn'X though is extremely powerfull, its duotimbral and you can have Single, Double, or Split patches.

The exclusive odf ( f for feedback) PWM algorithm has been developped by Xils-Lab.

And the intro price is 49$ so ....

I think they called it MiniMoog because they already had made the huge Moog Modular :D

Looks familiar?:

the MiniSyn'x is serial protected, like Oxium, and Xils 3 LE.

The Xils3/Xils4 allows soft Ilok protection, (no physical dongle required), in addition to standard Elicencer and Ilok. I think this will be extented to all Xils flagships in the future.

Not to forget - PolyKB II Player is also serial protected :-)

I could make projects with up to 17 instances of the MiniSyn'X without having to freeze anything ( and adding reverb + limiter on top of that )

For Cpu intensive patches : Try to reduce polyphony to the minimum required by the part(s) played.(you can set the exact polyphony for each of the 4 possible layers )
Reduce the release of the 4 enveloppes as much as possible without altering too much the character of the patch. Some patches using intensuvely PWM+RM can be a bit more demanding because of the new algorythms. There's no solution for that. All in all, its much less demanding than some other synths. And a bit more than certain ones.

For Live : Xils are usually very very fast to fix bugs. So hopefully they'll fix this one once it has been identified clearly. On my systems I did not have a single crash for a long time.

Damn this is nice :D Though I have to complain about two thing.. Ahem.. Here it goes. The buttons are black. I can get them visible by turning screen so bright that it hurts my eyes so a bit unusable. Maybe gray buttons or nice led shiny blue? Heck.. Give me pink buttons but no black ones on black background please. Another thing really bugging me is the sequencer. I'd appreciate either noob mode or 303 style EASY sequencer that is EASY to program. And when I press a key to launch the sequence, I hear both, the key pressed and the random tune sequence -_-

But yea.. Will buy this anyway :P But please Xils, consider some easy mode or optional style that could be selected in options menu?
