Re the Native Instruments sale, does anyone know if you can have NI stuff from more than one different release installed at the same time?

I have Komplete 9 from an earlier Black Friday sale, didn't upgrade to 10 and don't want to (at least don't want to buy it), but I'm sure anything I get now would be version 10. Can stuff from both versions coexist?

Generally the instruments and FX are independent and Komplete is just a bundling. However there are some interdependencies because some instruments require a min version of Reaktor and some require a min version of Kontakt. If you've got K9 then you should be ok as Kontakt & Reaktor are both still at v5; you may need to download a (free) minor update for one or both of these depending on what you buy. Just check the System Requirements for the items you're interested in on the product pages of the NI site.

Thanks for your reply. I don't see anything about Komplete or other NI versions in the system requirements for the bundle I'm interested in (Reverb Classics), and hardware and OS specs are fine, so I guess that means it'd be ok. The demos are running fine.

I'm thinking about Waves, where it's quite a hassle (or maybe impossible?) to have plugs from multiple releases isntalled. But they all run under one common shell, and in any case that's Waves not NI, but it just made me want to check before going ahead. I got Komplete as a Black Friday special upgrade from an ancient version of Reaktor, and it's not like I have the spare cash (or disk space) to upgrade to 10 without really good reason.

Thanks again.

You need a code for the discount FYI.
Code: GMSPRING2015
The 4 plugin bundle pack then costs only $98, which means half price of the regular price

I bought the Reverbs in a previous sale and they installed fine alongside my copy of Komplete 9. Shouldn't be a problem, and they are great 'verbs.

Thanks, good to have direct confirmation.

Another question about the NI verbs: I was demoing them today, in Studio One, and I couldn't drag the sliders sometimes. The normal hover changes were happening, and verb sound was coming, just the GUI was being weird. A bit later it was back to normal, came and went a little, but was mostly ok.

Has anyone else seen this, or heard anyone else fuss about it? Not sure it's bad enough to avoid it, but it was annoying when it happened.

It seems like waves are having higher discounts for extra plugins at their special page. I remember the discounts as starting at 20%, but now it's 30% off second, 35% third and 40% fourth.

To claim your 25% discount simply use code 345t3r2 on checkout (note that coupon cannot be used in conjunction with other coupons. Items already on sale are not included in sale).

Wow, do you think there are many movement inhibited persons in the thread? :o

I mean, how do you manage to operate a midi-keyboard, if you can't manage to hold the mouse pointer over adsrsounds.com, right click and proceed to webpage :P

Cool guys. It can be a PITA on Touch Tablets and Phones and a link is often appreciated.

Just another confirmation, but if you go to the NI control center (or whatever they call it now), there will be listed a complete version of every NI plug that you own. When updates for plugs come up, they show up in your control panel with whatever platform you bought them in. So, for example, I have Komplete5,6,7, and KU8 and 9. Some plugs that have since been discontinued still show up with their last update in the earlier platforms, (I can still get the last Kontakt v. 4 from one of the earlier Komplete registrations, even though the latest version 5 updates shows up in the later KU releases). If you have a duplicate of something, it shows up, I think, as a sole product and also as part of the bundles. I have an early copy of Battery 2 that still shows up by itself, even though I also have Battery 3/4 as part of the bundles.

Just read that over and hope it's clear.

Cheers

I'm thinking about getting this one. Anyone know if the individual Kontakt instruments are any good?
Modular Beats $79.99 $39.99
Glenn Morrison $79.99 $39.99
House Fabrik $79.99 $39.99
Vocal Factory $129.99 $64.99
Distorted Dancefloors $79.99 $39.99
I paid less for all of these in other Zero-G deals. The current deal isn't very special. These are all just OK, nothing stellar and I wouldn't recommend them unless you rock bottom prices like I did. Zero-G is way too loop-oriented but I like their individual Kontakt instruments because they don't take much hard drive space.

I have been tempted to get it many times, but I don't think it has a dedicated Kontakt GUI, just uses the generic Kontakt interface.

Which hurts the hands-on experience.
