I was wondering if there's any chance the whole User folder can be specified rather than just the User/Library? Would it be easy to do? Just seems strange that only the Library folder can be specified instead of the whole User folder.

Where would you store per user settings then? MuLab needs the settings in a known place so it can find them, of course. And they're "User" rather than part of the MuLab install as each user chooses their own settings.

Didn't even know you could do that. Besides, isn't a license per user? So for several users you'd need several licenses?

Yes, and that's in the user folder, too. So you can't just move User somewhere else -- MuLab won't know it's licensed, either.

But where? If it's a user setting? If you move the user settings folder, where will MuLab find the setting telling where the folder is?
