Anyone tried this yet? I just noticed it in the 6.0.25 beta notes and gave it a shot. I was pretty excited about the prospect of easily running my Sansamp in some mixes, but I couldn't get it to work. Whenever I set the send device to anything other than the default output I get a nasty distortion on playback. Doesn't even matter if the send or return are even hooked up, or if a return device is set to anything. Also, sometimes the distortion remains even when I disable the plugin.
When it's all setup, I do hear the Sansamp effecting the terrible distortion though, so there's something going on.
I certainly can't rule out that I am using it wrong so if someone else wants to take a crack at it please report back. If it does what I hope it does, it could be a really great thing for me.

Can someone confirm distortion on playback when setting a send device that's not the default output?
NOTE: Just noticed I get distortion when I set a tracks main output to a different one as well.
I would like to rule out my setup as the problem.
I was also wondering if other DAW's have something like this? Seems like it could be a big deal, but I am usually missing something.

I have tried it and it seemed to function pretty well. I got distortion only if the buffer was set to low. I did get some inconsistency with recording sync compensation, but there are issues with that anyway. Also, since your are creating an output to input loop, you need to make sure the input channel gain is set appropriately and that any sort of hardware live input monitoring is turned off.
Other DAWs do have this feature. Pretty much all of them that I work with have something similar.

Thanks, I guess what had me excited was the possiblilty of running it as a filter at different points of the chain in sync with plugins, but maybe that is my problem. I appreciate the input and will look more into it.
