Panther was 10.3 (10.7 is Lion) and even if that was a typo, it's flagged as a "Universal" app (meaning both Intel and PPC code) but from 10.7 onwards OSX was Intel-only (no PPC code)

I assume they mean 10.7 or later...

looks like they've edited it...but still making a mistake:
Requires OS X 10.7 (Snow Leopard) or higher
Intel® Core™ Duo 1.66 GHz, 768 MB RAM
Snow Leopard was 10.6 :)

But the synth is capable of so much more.

The GUI is excellent, its the selling point because ease of use.

Simply copy your presets of Circle over to Circle2 ... :)

Where are the factory patches for Circle one? All I can find are my addon patches. (on Mac)

Don't know 'jack' about Mac ;), but on Windows they should be in the Presets directory of Circle.

"On the Mac, Circle’s main install directory is /Library/Application Support/FAW/
Circle"

from the manual

That "cartoon" gui is one of the best in usability. As far as sound capabilities, it's got every base covered; dubstep presets probably sit up front for marketing.

To my ears it's certainly a more digital sound then some others, but I've never been the best judge of that. But the semi-modular format and drag-drop modulation make it a it's a tweakers dream, especially for effects and motion sounds.

It's a free upgrade for Circle users. :hyper:

Bizarrely, one of the features of the new version that isn't in the manual is the vector phase shaping synthesis (VPS). It's a kind of phase distortion that can sound a bit like a resonant filter sweep and has some similarities to the technique that the D50 uses to emulate an analogue filter on its basic waveforms.

Also bizarrely, no aftertouch support. WTF?

Yes that's annoying, I did ask for it during the beta cycle. tbh the whole midi assignment setup needed revising.

Yeah, it is quite rare that AT, wheel and pedals are not assignable as normal mod sources.

The manual looks to be for Circle 1 still.

Aftertouch - from their Facebook page (hidden deep in a comment):
"We are looking at adding in an update to Circle 2".

The VPS osc. is quite awesome :)

Never tried Circle, went right under my radar...will have to DL.

GUI looks ok to me, better than some of the stuff ive seen ppl here pimp out.

It's "more... than" not "then". (Just trying to stop this wherever I see it, because pretty soon so many people are going to be saying it that it will be accepted as 'the norm'.)

I have pleaded to Hugh to implement Sustain Pedal support and he said maybe they would look into it for future updates.

He said that it wasn't requested much, though.

Well, I do need it ...!

Ridiculous attitude! Since when do people have to request such basic things? (oh yeah except maybe in Fruity Loops land)
