You can try out the whole of MuX if you get the MuLab for Mac demo - only it'll be inside MuLab. The difference is that MuLab is a DAW wrapped around MuX, rather than a standalone MuX instance, basically.thetechnobear wrote:no mac version = no love![]()
I do love (software) modular synths, Ive got Reaktor, Oscillot (M4L), Max with Beap... and then semi modulars from u-he like Zebra/Bazille/Ace...
what would Mux add? and how does it sound?
there seems little on the website about what modules it contains, how it differs from others...
( i know it can hosts vsts and front end them, but Im not really interested in that... Id tend to use Max if I need that)
oh well, I guess when/if a mac version arrives I'll take a look then.
No love for MUX Modular 7 ?

the new osc with grain and Wt are really good, same for the sampler, if some audio rate possibility arrive, in an update, with some new filters, it s an instant buy, for sure, it s a great tool!

I didn't realize how much input AAS has had in Live, basically it seems like many of the synhts in Live are variations of AAS lineup:
Analog - Ultra Analog
Collision - Chromaphone
Electric - Lounge Lizard
Tension - String Studio
So is Max 4 Live a variation of Tassman?

Nope
Max for Live is a full version of Max:
https://cycling74.com/
with a few changes/tweaks/extras for compatibility with Live
so it works as an extension of Live's functionality
or to extend Live's functionality
its stupid what you can do with it
i've done complete audio/visual/kinetic performances/installations
with just Max and all sorts of scrapheap physical/MIDI interfaces
it isn't diminished in M4L
so you can really tailor Live to what you want
i recently rebought Tassman and it seemed very small...

Yes. Despite the fact that Max is modular software tool capable of processing audio, Max for Live is actually a modular software tool capable of processing audio by a completely different company, and is not actually a version of 'Max' specifically for Live, its just a version of Tassman called 'Max for Live'. Also, the makers of Max were okay with that confusion.Numanoid wrote:I didn't realize how much input AAS has had in Live, basically it seems like many of the synhts in Live are variations of AAS lineup:

Set Theory claim:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate.
Red is Red and anything that is Red is an object, a class in itself or a real thing if you prefer"

Looking at the Cycling74 webpage, it seems though that a shiny high end Mac needs to be at the core of it all.dave dove wrote:with just Max and all sorts of scrapheap physical/MIDI interfaces

Updated immediately, absolutely worth it!Numanoid wrote:Anybody have upgraded and can share their insight if it is worth it or not?
The new version supports audio rate modulations and allows FM/AM/PM ..
There are many improvements, new function and also new modules including a powerful step sequencer.
Whith Mux the only limit is the creativity,an excellent upgrade and sound great
It is currently in pre-release and there's also an intro price for the update

Glad I had backed up my MUX 6 installer, don't find them available for download on the website anymore?

Well, I also only found it via the side pannel on KVR. But it's actually still considered "Beta" (even though it is mostly stable), which is why it wasn't hyped so far.VariKusBrainZ wrote:Well it would help if existing users were notified
You can always ask Jo where to find an old copy. And I do remember that there has been links to a "beta" server in the MuTools Forum section on KVR.Numanoid wrote:Glad I had backed up my MUX 6 installer, don't find them available for download on the website anymore?
Else - I'm on MUX7 already, and I frigging love it! So many (small) cool new features (I personally really dig the new Waveform View).
And... it's finally working in Wavelab (up until v9.x). Granted, with a small, unexpected workaround - but it does work. To those that had issues with WL7 or WL8 before... load the plugin into any insert slot... then render with a basic "MUX preset" (only MUX modules must be used). If the host doesn't hang, but renders, you can easily load your own presets and continue working.
I created custom saturation modules the other day, implemented the waveform view on the main GUI, used the multi-parameter macros without scratching my head, built a quick custom UI...
IMO one of the best add-ons you can have for any non-modular hosts.
