Howdy. I know that middle mouse click is used in a few ways but would it be a stretch to make it an assignable shortcut key? Me, I'd delete notes with it, oh yeah. Good idea or nay?

I would like to know this too, am looking for a new mouse and want to know if its worth getting one of the multi button ones, meaning more than 3 buttons

There are no concrete plans yet in that direction, mainly because i'll be working on other things.

I've been using an LG 5 Button mouse for around 7 years and wouldn't be without it now. They make web / file browsing a lot easier and faster. Would be great if there could be assignable somehow in Mulab. But, no rush.bibz1st wrote:I would like to know this too, am looking for a new mouse and want to know if its worth getting one of the multi button ones, meaning more than 3 buttons

I've got a great gizmo with dozens of buttons - it's called a qwerty keyboard
add autohotkey software and you can do just about anything you like - and still use the mouse to "navigate" the screen

Personally, I hate keyboards as it makes using a pc slower. It's good if your an expert using the keyboard anyway, but not all of us are, and the vast majority of PC use is done through a mouse if you don't type often, as is my case. I wish I could do away with it as it's nothing but a hindrance for me! I for one will be glad when touchscreens are the norm.

well each to his own - but I can't see how moving a mouse to somewhere on the screen and then clicking the button is quicker than a single key press!
The down side of using a keyboard is remembering all the shortcuts - but if you are using a program regularly it soon gets very quick
I do get angry though when there no kbd shortcuts available for some functions
We should be able to choose to use all mouse / all keyboard or any points in-between
In fact the original DOS program setup was ideal all round - menus at the top but with the shortcuts displayed

I have to admit that it's far easier when a menu tells you the shortcut by underlining the letter. But because of the way MuLab is devised that's not possible. Menus are few and far between. Perhaps you should make a written note or have a 'Post-It' app on screen for such things?
