So I've recently decided I'd like to try and stick to freeware only from here on out, to promote it and demonstrate that it isn't inherently inferior. I switched to MuLab from Cubase 6. Or, at least, I've tried, but I can't use any plugins except the ones that come with MuLab. I've tried both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of all manner of plugins, from Synth1 to mda Piano to bdx1 and more via jbridge and even without jbridging. Nothing works, period. I'll go to manage vst plugins, scan, says "0 plugins added", and the dll file is listed as "(disabled)". If I try to take a shortcut and just add a vst to a channel rack like an effect or something, it says "invalid vst".
Any ideas what might be wrong here? I've used other programs like LMMS and Cubase to verify the dlls do, indeed, work.
Will be watching the thread actively so if more info is necessary, just tell me what you need to know.

Quick update: just tried Massive, and it worked. Now if only literally any of the other several gigabytes of plugins I have would work, that would be fantastic. I scanned my entire VST folder and Massive is the only one that made it. I think that's raised more questions than it answered, imo....

It's very difficult to suggest a reason for one VST working and others not.
What OS are you running? Is it 32bit or 64bit? (I'm assuming some version and variant of Windows and 64bit.)
What version number and variant (I'm assuming the Free variant) of MuLab are you running? Is it 32bit or 64bit? (From what you said, it sound like you tried both.) Oh, and where did you unzip MuLab? Do not put it under your program files directory/-ies.
For the working VST, is it 32bit or 64bit? Are any other plug-ins by that manufacturer working for the same bittage?
Give the full details of a non-working VST - manufacturer, plug-in name, version and whether 32bit or 64bit.
Can you try adding one at a time rather than scanning, too, and see if that makes any difference?
