An example: this month I had not but sometimes I have that obligation to wait for a very long time, sometimes up to the middle of the month.sfd wrote:Why wait until the 17th when one can get it today?
I live with a quarterly disability pension, and each quarter (January, April, July, October) it is not sent (and received) regularly at the same day. Sometimes it is so long to come that it comes... at the middle of the month.
It was the case for example when I bought Xils 4. Xavier has been very kind, else I couldn't have had the discount because my quarterly pension was scheduled to arrive a few days after the end of the discount period.
And sometimes it can be a question of one or two days. So, whatever the type of periodical resources entering... I deeply understand that it can (perhaps it is not but it can) be a reason why djshire asked this.

I believe if one contact XILS-Lab about such an issue they will eventually do an exception. XILS-Lab do have a very understanding and good support I think

This is also my opinion. The result of combination of DCOs properly emulated and the specific analog filters I think.It can be 1srt plan effortless. It can also be alone efforless.spaceman wrote:This thing is growing on me actually. I does have character and seems to be one of those synths capable of producing "one sound to define a track" sort of sounds.

I don't know, maybe the Jarre reference is even hurting the image of that synth... I just downloaded the demo version DESPITE the Jarre reference, not because of it
Curious if this one uses as much CPU as the other Xils stuff. Would be cool to be able to turn 0df off when not needed
OK, played around with it for a while. Pads simply overwhelm my computer in terms of CPU. Anyway, the sound as a whole seems good, although a bit cheesy in my view.
The knobs sometimes don't react to my mouse. Odd, encountered the same problem with Korg's MonoPoly a couple of days ago. Maybe it has to do with the readouts that they both display...

Switch to single mode to ease CPU.fluffy_little_something wrote:I don't know, maybe the Jarre reference is even hurting the image of that synth... Cross-mod takes most CPU not 0df from what I've read.
Anyways, GO for the Smart Load thing !

Many of the XILS plugs comes with cut down versions:
PolyKB II -> PolyKB II Player
XILS 3 v2.0 -> XILS 3 LE v2.0
Syn'X -> miniSyn'X
Which of these are most like its big brother?

PolyKB Player probably - in that it loads the same banks and has the same features under the hood, just has less editability.
The other 2 have more editability, so function more as synths in their own right, but less patch compatibility with the full versions due to less features overall.
So I suppose it depends on what you want more of - more patch compatibility with the same overall sound but less editability, or more synth features but with less options and a slightly different sound.

Xils synths always run at full quality. Iirc you can choose to display, or not, the readouts. For the Xpu print, you can also reduce the polyphony to the number of voices you actually need. I was able to use up to around 15 instances of the Minisyn'x in a track without problems or having to freeze, so I'd say it has a moderate cpu charge, for its not a cpu lite synth. All in all, compared to ither hi-end VAs, I'd say it is less cpu demanding.fluffy_little_something wrote:I don't know, maybe the Jarre reference is even hurting the image of that synth... Yes. Xils3 LE V2 presets will be identical in Xils 3 V2/Xils 4 ( not V1) while MiniSyn'x presets will be 100% compatible with the Syn'X 2, when it will be released.aMUSEd wrote:PolyKB Player probably - in that it loads the same banks and has the same features under the hood, just has less editability.

Else, if you compare the Minisyn'x features ( Dual presets, splits, polysequencer, IA assisted preset creation, etc ) to similar synths ( Monark, etc etc) in a similar price range, it is only a cut down down version VS its big brother Syn'X, which is a true synthesis monster.
