so it's been two years since Live 9 came out. I know if I upgrade now, Live 10 will be announced the following day ( knowing my luck ;) )

Anyone /alpha/beta testing this yet ?
I haven't been keeping tabs on the Ableton website, so if anyone knows some of the things we can likely expect in Live 10 it would be great to hear about it.

things i'd like to see:
sandboxing plugins, a-la bitwig.

built in bit-bridge (though perhaps that plays into the sandboxing feature above)

latency/buffer corrected automation (...or just a complete and as close to flawless as possible implementation of PDC)

highest quality pitch-shift/time-stretch algos

native lfo/modulation devices (that can also send midi)... (the m4l solutions - while welcome - are resource pigs)

native patch/state/preset morphing

I'll add more as I think of them.

What features are you hoping for ? Both likely and unlikely...

Latency/buffer corrected automation is already in the latest betas.

Well it's still in beta so a work-in-progress, not sure what, if anything, will still be missing when it's ready for release but at least they are trying to address it finally and not even in a paid for update.

Live 9 already does that

I doubt it's soon as 9.2 hasn't been release yet and is in beta.
Sweet child in time...

Plus, it was 4 years between Live 8 and Live 9. We're only two years into Live 9, the next version is easily another year away, IMHO.

This.

At least wait for 9.5 before worrying about version 10.... But as mentioned, 9.2 hasn't officially been released, so you can feel safe about buying into Live now. :)

I think that was because their contrived yearly upgrade cycle finally caught up with them, 'jumped the shark' and Live 8 was the worst example of a fubar release. As every (yearly) release since 5 was getting progressively worse and worse (as in released too soon to paying customers) and it just came to a head with 8. So I feel the transition time from 8 - 9 won't be repeated... I'd expect a Live 10 announcement by Autumn at the latest, and a release by early 2016 at the latest. imo. ymmv.

One thing I do feel will be repeated though, is the gap between announcement and release... which was approx. 4 months for Live 9.

hmmmm :)

I'll evaluate the situation when the next sale happens, summer maybe ?
can upgrades (From 8 to 9) be sold on the used market ?

If you upgrade its tied to your license so you can't re-sell the upgrade.

thanks new feature discovered, but the realtime pitching and streching is just bad

Read the reklease notes for the latest betas and check what they are working on.

I think they are trying to iron out some quirks, live 8 got till 8.3 before live 9 was announced so I would expect that we wont see Live 10 this year.

Anyway just get it in the market place here, suite goes around 400 and standard for 200.
