Of course, I'm a bad/lazy keyboard player ... So I was wondering if it's possible to script remap a keyboard to have the white keys only used to play different scales?

midiScaleChanger can do that ...

"Transposes notes by individual scale degrees and/or globally, to change one scale into another. Among other things, this allows you to play any scale using only the white keys."

Most keyboard controllers have a built-in transpose function, so as long as you are only playing major, natural minor, and the seven main modes, that should be adequate. Which keyboard are you using?
Logic Pro | LUNA Pro | OB-X8 | Prophet 6 | OB-6 | Rev2 | TEO-5 | Pro 3 | SE-1X | Minitaur | Deepmind 12D | Integra-7 | TR-1000 | Analog RYTM mk2 | Digitakt 2 | TD-3 MO | TD-3 | Maschine+

Thanks for this. Their site seems to be down, but from what found out, this is a VST, right? Doesn't this mean the recorded notes are the pressed key, and it just get's transposed through the plugin after recording?

It's an Alesis V25. Yes it does have a transpose setting, it's just very cumbersome to change it, open application, get preset, change, save, send. That's why I was thinking this would be a perfect uses of scripting.
