how many people waiting for omni 2 will die of a tragic accident (at lease one person will) before april 30th and would dying in such a way as to never be able to get omnisphere 2 leave ones soul to walk the earth forever. you know, the way a person turns into a ghost due to unfinished business

I already 'own' the upgrade via a coupon on Time & Space that got me a discount. Should I expire before 30th April, the first person who manages to contact me can have my copy. I'll spell out the serial number on your ouija board (make sure you get one with numbers, not just letters).

that said, i used to own trillian and if your looking for synth basses (not guitar) omnisphere can pretty much do what trillian can do, with an exception, it CAN fill the same sonic musical space, but it CAN'T in anyway sound like trillian. i think sometimes about re buying trillian don't get me wrong, trillian is pure win and sounds fing amazing, i just don't think i want to deal with the huge install time of both omni and trillian its so painful that although i could buy trillian today this second, id rather do without then have to deal with another 5 dvds. if trillian 2 is released on a usb drive i would purchase in a heartbeat. im on the fence ya know? i may just rebuy it though as its so incredible.

I was mostly thinking about Trillian for its acoustic basses, but I also have to remember that Komplete 9 Ultimate (which I have) contains a bunch of Kontakt acoustic bass libraries which I haven't even tried yet. And you're right about synth basses; I have all of that via Omnisphere and other stuff.

You've convinced me to skip Trillian until Trillian 2.

they already draw lines. 50$ xfer fee on case-by-case basis. product becomes nfr etc. can't sell omni if upgraded from atmos (even if you did buy in at a huge cost, and stick with it through the intel wrapper debacle)

Why are you rewriting the English language into some sort of shorthand? There is no such word as 'xfer', only the name of a company.

Guys, I have some extremely useful replies from Spectrasonics support, to questions you probably all have.

well installing from 6 dvds it sorta removes a little bit of my soul every time i reinstall.

I hardly dare break this to you, but..

Installing Onmi / Trillian on a new machine.

1. Copy entire contents of STEAM folder via a removable drive, then onto the desired location of your new machine.

2. Install JUST the plugins from the install DVD. Cancel out when it gets to installing the library.

3. Update just the program to the latest version.

4. Launch the plugin, go through the challenge / response cycle.

5. When it next runs, it will ask you for the location of the STEAM folder - point it at your new location.

That's it. It'll pick up Trilain, Moog, 3rd Party and User presets / tags / favourites too. No need for disc-shovelling

Happy to hear it. Your work with Alchemy was so excellent. Sad to see that synth go. But at least there will be Omnisphere 2 to look forward to for sound design now. Now that Omnisphere supports more sampling and synthesis features, it might even rival Alchemy.

I forget, we are in the era of 'unable to write anything in full', so I'm supposed to know that by 'Steve', el-bo means 'Steve Duda'. It's conventional to give somebody's surname when talking about them, you know, seeing as there are millions of 'Steves' in the world...

Being an Aspie I can understand your frustration with language usage but for your own sake I think it's time to let this one go.
