Changing style for all plugins

Click [Settings] and select 'Style Wizard' to define the default style settings for all plug-ins. After that you'll need to go through each plug-in and click [Settings] and select 'Reset default editor size and style'. If I were doing it I would just wait until I opened a plug-in in a project and reset it then, rather than go through them all at once.
-------------------
In my opinion, changing the default style for all plug-ins AND applying automatically to those plug-ins would cause much consternation, grabbing of pitch forks and fire-brands

You're right, however there are two problems:
a) you are limited with types and colour presets (for example no chance to use user set of colours on Levitation interface)
b) more important - Style Wizard affects only plugins which default style hasn't been changed - for the rest you can do it only manually (you mentioned about this).
I know this is not the most important feature however it could save you some time.

I can see how you change size and colours but how do you get rid of things like crosshatch patterns? I like the modern style apart from that, I would prefer a plain background not patterned.

Windows only
I thought the whole point was that this was built in. All I want is to remove the crosshatch so it looks less like a tablecloth.

Please try the attached; I modified the Futuristic Style and replaced the Window image file.
Download the attachment, unZip it and put the file in the Melda Styles folder. On Windows 7 here, it is C:\ProgramData\MeldaProduction\MTexturedStyles. I do not know about OSX.
The suffix _nd is for 'no dots'.

Also, to get all the Futuristic Colour palettes available in Futuristic_nd:
- click [Settings] > Style
- select 'Futuristic', then click [Presets] in the 'Colour Settings' panel
- click 'Root' in the Browser tree, then click [Export'],
- click [Desktop] on the left-hand side, type in a name and click the tick button,
- click [Close]
- select 'Futuristic_nd', then click [Presets] in the 'Colour Settings' panel
- click 'Root' in the Browser tree, then click [Import'],
- click [Desktop] on the left-hand side, select the file on the right-hand side
- and click the tick button,
- click [yes] then the tick button,

One thing I specifically dislike about the MPowerSynth UI is that there's not enough distinction between dialogs/windows you can close and the main UI. Functionally it's a dialog, but its styling, including the border around, it uses the same color scheme as everything else, making you search for the close button instead of just click it, and causing general unclarity.
I haven't looked at the style editor yet. Is it possible to fix that with it? Does it have a concept of dialogs/windows vs main UI? If so, can the dialog border and/or background be changed independently from the main UI?

You can always re-install (update?) and it will ask after or during the installation. I remember it does that for me when I install the Melda Total Bundle.

Ok folks, so there has been a lot here, so just some contribution, not that I'm using 9.00b2 of course :
- MTexturedStyleEditor is currently Windows only, it is damn problematic to keep things working on OSX... But I can probably get the support for OSX back if enough of you would be interested.
- There is no distinction between separate Windows, but now there is the 5th main color, which you can colorize all Windows that currently don't have focus.

Great, thanks to both of you for building and pointing that out! Will look into that when I get a chance, but it sounds like the perfect solution.
While I'm kvetching, one other OT-from-this-thread-but-important UI suggestion, at least for MPowerSynth: All buttons that display icons instead of text should have hover text saying what they do. You might think they're all obvious, but they're not, at least to new users.
First off, it's a painless learning aid, instead of having to dig into the manual.
Second, If you've edited a preset and guess wrong about what a button does, you can lose a lot of what you've done. This isn't theoretical, it happened to me yesterday. I'm sure it happens less to people who read the manual first instead of just playing, but that's not me, apparently. I will read it, but wanted to check it out some first.

Sorry, no tool-tips - but you can simply use any of the "?" buttons or press F1 or ctrl+H when your mouse cursor is over any control
.
