Because it works in all Mac systems, including 10.10, and was tested in them since the beginning, maybe. And because it will be an excelente instrument, very versatile, and with a gigantic library (AFAIK, both the old Rapture and Dimension Pro libraries will be included, as well as some new additions).

Pretty much. It's why I haven't upgraded to Platinum -- X3 Pro has ever-damn-thing, except a decent price break for upgrades.

I wonder if the GUI will be any bigger. Rapture is too small to work with on bigger resolutions.

Classical and Jazz may correspond to the head, and Rock to the balls, but Dubstep and its spawn own the lower intestine. How that became where the money is is anybody's guess.

Synthesis wise, other than new wavetable samples, they didn't show anything (that I could tell) to make it better than the original Rapture. They really focused it on samples over synthesis. Personally, I think I'll pass. I'm more of a synth than a sample guy.

It didn't have Jordan Rudess so that was a plus, though.
