Hello,

I am just testing the demo from Liquid Notes while it is on sale during Musikmesse. Installation works in general with Mulab but I have the problem of recording midi in from the keyboard.

Liquid Notes takes a prepared midi song (with defined tracks) and you can change the harmonies. Thats not that intersting but you can improvise a melody to the changed harmonies and Liquid notes will organize that they are perfectly in tune with the new harmonies (you cant play wron anymore and for someone like me who ONLY can play wrong on a keyboard thats fantastic  ). Now my problem:

- how to start midi recording in Mulab (in Liquid Notes you can not record, just play) synchronized to Liquid Notes ? Is there kind of a "pause recording until external midi is started" in Mulab ?

At the moment I can only start Liquid Notes playing using mulab for playing incoming sound or start recording in mulab but that wont start Liquid notes. Hope you get my problem.

Kind regards,

Richard

I was refused a request, understandably, due to me being the only one wanting it and dev time being priority.

I asked for a wait note recording facility. This basically puts the sequencer into a paused-record mode and as soon as a midi note is detected it unpauses and recording commences.

I'm wondering if this is what you are wanting also? If it is then hopefully Jo may reconsider. Now there seems a better reason to implement it. Fingers crossed...

You are not alone. Midi sync and midi clock management has bee requested since 2013. Just enter midi sync into search in this forum.
I dont know what is the problem to include this feature. Many midi keaboards are used in other daws .
This feature should be standard.

The only solution until now is to record with other sequencer and import as midi file.

So, just to get things clear (by the way seems I have requested something in that way 2013 in case of using an external sequencer and just forgotten....).

There is still no way to send midi clock out to another external application ?

Seems so, I have tried, the application (liquid notes) is set to "midi clock empfangen" (get midi clock), but when I start midi recording in Mulab it does not start the other application at all (that was the way the developper explained me how it should work, start recording and send midi clock from the daw then liquid notes should play and arrange the recorded midinotes).

That is really a pity, so I really would set this to be a request !

Kind regards,

Richard
