Hmmm... create a midi clip on a track... put in some notes, and copy them... put in a new clip (same length) move the cursor to the begnning of the new clip and paste! Puts the notes all over the place? can't seem to get it to place where the cursor is? isn't that the way it's supposed to work.... Worked on the first clip?? Or is there some technique I'm not aware???

Try selecting the track before pasting

Uh, if I'm pasting from one clip to another, that doesn't seem to make much sense... And it didn't work either! If I select the second clip, move th cursor, and paste... sometimes it works, but it seems to be intermittant?? I guess you have to select the second clip, not just move the cursor? Hmmm... this sure does some weird stuff...

I might misunderstand what you're trying to do but a simple solution would be to copy the entire clip to the new track. On the mac it's command/click/drag.

Now you can edit the new clip how you like and everything is synced correctly.

Within the same clip, I think shift/click/drag copies a group of midi notes.

Tried lots of different copy/paste commands. Indeed bizarre stuff going on (both mac and pc) Lots of times it states 'nothing to paste' although there is some data in the clipboard.

this happens to me all the time. Copy some notes, try to paste them into the same clip somewhere else, or in a different clip. Making sure the destination track and clip are selected, and the transport bar moved to the target area, I paste - and the notes paste directly over the source notes! No matter where I move the transport bar thats the only place they paste.

It is a random bug though, things usually work ok.

The mystery... that is Tracktion!
