Proper pause?

Is there a pause function? I'm finding it hard to edit complex midi tracks when every time I press the space bar it jumps back to the start instead of just stopping exactly where I am up to, makes it too easy to lose my place.

didn't even realise that was an option. I just made a new startup template and it must have been selected by default.

Since there is also a "stop playing" key command independent of "stop/start playing", It would be nice if that one was like some other DAW's where you push it once to stop where you're at and twice to go back to the original position. I would hate having it happen every time via the option mentioned above, but being able to do it quickly would be really useful.
