I'm surprised this isn't already posted as a topic (I did search the forums and all I found was a suggestions deep inside other topics):
I'd really love to have a search feature on the preset/patch-collections within the various plugins. It would have been so practical to for example be able to search for "piano" to get listed all patches with "piano" in the name, to see the various piano/el-piano patches available for that plugin.
Searchable patch library?

I think this is an area where attributes based preset browsers shine, the problem with just searching names is people don't always put the term "piano" in the name of a piano patch, if they did we would quickly end up with too many patches with similar or same names, most preset designers try to use imaginative and evocative names. However if a patch, whatever its name, is given a piano "tag" then you can instantly find them all, and also drill down further if there are also timbal attributes included (like bright or metallic).

Oh sure, tagging would be excellent indeed, but I dare not ask for too muchaMUSEd wrote:[...]However if a patch, whatever its name, is given a piano "tag" then you can instantly find them all, and also drill down further if there are also timbal attributes included (like bright or metallic).
Thanks for the reply, Urs. I am very pleased to hear it's on the list.Urs wrote:text search is a rising topic in our priority list.
