Can't you use the Rectifier for that?

Yeah, I thought that too. But when I applied Rectify to a square LFO it turned the LFO into a constant voltage. With the rectified LFO modulating OSC pitch, increasing LFO depth was like adjusting OSC tuning. But maybe I set it up wrong.

Post

Simply add the LFO signal to whatever unipolar modulation source you're using to modulate its depth. E.g. mod wheel + (LFO * mod wheel) stays unipolar.

Thank you, I will try that.

I don't understand how to set this up. I'm confused, does the asterisk mean multiply?

Here's what I tried:
In the LFO2 panel I set Waveform to sqr hi-lo, Depth Mod to maximum and ModWheel as the control.

In the Modulation Processors ADD function I tried LFO2 + ModWheel

In the MULTIPLY function I tried LFO x ModWheel

In both cases the resulting square wave modulation was bipolar. Sorry, I'm just not getting it. Could you tell me what values go where? Or point me to a preset?

I do appreciate your response.

It does indeed. I think where you got stuck was that you need to use both the add and multiply section. Break apart the equation like so:

Code: Select all

m = LFO * ModWheel
a = Modwheel + m
And patch it like this. (I'm modulating the cutoff with ModWheel + LFO1 indirectly through ADD)

I personally would love to see a unipolar squarewave added to Diva. If you want to do a trill between a low and high note, you've gotta set the base pitch at the midpoint. Then, if you want to modulate the high note, you've gotta move the base pitch in accordance. Yeah, it can be done, but it's fiddly.

Got it. It works! The only thing I had to do (which I stumbled on by luck) was add ADD as the source for Tune Mod in Triple VCO. Thank you bmrzycki and Howard. Much appreciated.
