You are correct. Your speed is shown in Mega bits not Mega Bytes. (Ie. Mb vs. MB). You should be getting more, as you said,however, it hinges on the server you hit on the other end. I can try numerous servers and get varying results. The closest server is not as fast as one that is several hundred miles away, in my case,
For those of you who wonder, I regularly get 100 Mbs via 5 ghz WIFI on my iPad. It's good to know that both the iPad and my Wifi can do that kind of bandwidth. I was surprised.

what you pay for is a connection of 100 megabit/s. megabit does not equal megabyte. in fact one byte is around 8 bit so your speed test makes perfect sense.

Why are you certain this is the case? As seen in the image it says around 10 Mb/s. This Mb/s is the exact same system the company advertises which says I should get 100 Mb/s, yet I'm only getting 10 Mb/s...

in the speedtest you get a download speed of 10 megaBYTE per s which roughly equals a download speed of 100 megaBIT per s (megaBIT is what you paid for). i wonder why are so angry, download speeds of more than 10 megaBYTE per s are as fast as it gets. i have a comparable high speed connection and i`m more than happy with it. i also predict that given the expected traffic on the spectrasonics servers later today you will not reach the 10 megaBYTE per s (and this won`t be a problem of your high speed connection but caused by all the people who are unable to wait a day or two and want to download the update as soon as it is released). good luck

Ookla give you a choice between Mbps and kBps. He's using Megabits.

Why are you saying megaBIT is what I paid for? It is my understanding that I should be getting 100 megaBYTE'S, when I'm only getting 10? If you are refering to only the post I made, I probably just wrote out the numbers wrong. Also, notice that the speeds I'm getting is ranked C and slower than more than half the houses in the U.S., so saying this is as high as it gets is clearly wrong. Some people posting here are even getting 500MB/s.

Internet speeds are usually advertised in megaBITs, not megabytes. So, 100 Mbit/s is around 12.5 Mbytes/s.

That's very fast anyways, for a home connection.

Scanned again and got different speeds.

Afterwards, I checked the settings and it was under megabits, so I switched it over to megabytes and got this

No idea what is going on? Maybe it connected to a different server? Why is the number still listed as Mb/s in both scans.

Now I'm officially confused

Will try to call my ISP and figure out what exactly I'm signed up for and clarify some things.. and atleast make sure they are not throttling my speeds. Will switch ISP's if need be.

edit* also just noticed switching the settings also alters the previous images...This may indeed be a case of misunderstandings on my part. Megabyte and Megabits, will be sure to distinguish which one's I'm signed up for.

Are those other listings on here 500 megabytes or bits? They said it would only take 40 secs to download 20GB so I'd assumes its in bytes. The speed I'm getting is decent enough, but wouldn't mind having those speeds.

yep, sorry, i should have taken a closer look. my mistake, but in general (at least here in germany) the description that is used by the providers for the speed of the internet connection is megaBIT.

So after watching a couple hours worth of YouTube vids I've decided it is something I do want, nay need.
However seeing as v2 is the same price as v1 and includes all of the latter, there's no real urgency.... Thus allowing my bank balance to revert back to normal blood pressure levels.
