Did you take a sneak pic on the MPE ?? http://bit.ly/mpe-spec
Sound wise you are after the character of the hardware, but could you at least extend the pitch bend range? to 24 or 48?
Loving it as days go by
While i find the UI mod wheels not usefuls at all to play, they are a nice "visual aid" about what's going on a track.martin_l wrote:I don't have plans to add the mod wheel to the GUI.
Just wondering because LMMS is similar to FL Studio, have you been able to record and playback mod wheel movements in FL Studio for PG8X?Parduz wrote:mmmhhh... seems i have to try this nice plugin

I use FL Studio but a lot of my tracks comes from my Atari with Cubase 2.0, so they have no automation (no graphical line to look at) but "real" midi control events streams, so i often look at the mod wheel position when i hear something going wrong.
I dunno how hard is to implement it, but i'd keep it as a low priority "TODO" (as a programmer myself, i sometime find relaxing to abandon the real problems and put my hands on something trivial).
Any host which can record MIDI should be able to record the Mod Wheel.davetbass wrote:

Thanks!
This is the right goal. Sound engine tweaking will be complete when all .syx patches sound the same.martin_l wrote:I should mention here, that we are still in beta. The sound is not yet set in stone. I am still adjusting some parameters, to capture better the sound of the hardware. The old versions definitely were further away.lesha wrote:I have been messaging Martin but he didn't have time to check it out yet, the old version (PG8X-12-11) sounds snappier than the new one.
I have adjusted every parameter to mirror the previous version, but it just sounds different even without the chorus enabled.
Here is the midi file and the PG8X presets: https://www.mediafire.com/#4aj8ir7gxyhwx
If you don't have time to test it listen to the mp3 in the folder - the older version is 1st, new 2nd.
I like the old sound much better than this new version. Looks like the envelopes are not the same.
Most of the changes in sound you might notice, you should be able to correct for by slightly changing the parameters.
My aim is clearly to capture the character of the hardware, not the one of some previous beta version.
I guess they are working on it as an enhancement to Vestige (the host),martin_l wrote:Any host which can record MIDI should be able to record the Mod Wheel.davetbass wrote:

How can I get the full version and all the presets? The mediafire.com link (above) requires an account, apparently (thought they didn't used to).lesha wrote:I have been messaging Martin but he didn't have time to check it out yet, the old version (PG8X-12-11) sounds snappier than the new one.

Thanks for the sarcastic response.DuX wrote:Getting all the presets in "one fell swoop" will not work, Steve. Losing a few more calories while clicking a mouse and downloading different presets won't make you sick, on the contrary - it's a good practice. So the only way to get all the presets is to click on each of them and download them. Such a drag, huh? :/ [sarc]
I have included the link to a rar file which contains all files, if you want to test the differences between the old and new version: http://www.mediafire.com/download/q1vrf ... ad_all.rarplanetearth wrote:How can I get the full version and all the presets? Hi Steve, planetearth wrote:
I was really trying to make sure that the patches that were already zipped up weren't duplicates and that I wouldn't end up creating a mess. All of the files weren't uploaded at the same time, and without downloading them all, I don't know if I need the "default bank" and/or the sysex files. There is no documentation from the developer, and the "readme" and other text files are from other people, and not necessarily even related to the synth or the patches.
