Anyone Getting Defective Archives in T6?

I use a dedicated music laptop that lives at the end of the living room couch as a scratch pad for song ideas. T6, Win7 64-bit, 16gig, two hard drives, etc.

At some point I will archive a project and walk the thumb drive down the hall to the main music computer.

Normally the project archive will consist of a simple midi drum track that I use as a clik track and one or two tracks of acoustic guitar and a scratch vocal, so we are talking about 4 to 5 tracks maximum

While archiving a project, (not an edit) everything appears to be working normally.

However when I de-archive and open the project archive, all my wav files and the midi file show on the list page as being there but there is NO edit file to click on to open the project.

Tried it a few times with the same result.

Several months ago with an early version of T5 I had problems archiving a project but the T crew looked into it and the next iteration of T5 archived properly.

Is this a known issue with T6?

(I collaborate with musicians in California and Connecticut using sending archives back and forth, and I think I need to start regularly archiving projects as back up protection).

I hasten to add that the projects being archived normally have at least 2 or 3 edits in them.

I did a quick test by creating an archive file then transferring to my other computer via a USB drive. The archive was created on a Mac 64-bit machine then opened on a Win 64-bit - both on the latest build of T6.

First, I archived using the Project tab "Create Archive" button in Properties. All four of my Edits were there when I opened on the other computer.

I archived the same project from the Edit tab, Export menu. In that case, only the Edit that was open at the time of the export was there when I opened from the other computer.

I think those are the expected results.

I wonder if the issue you are seeing has to do with newly created projects or edits. I just opened an existing project for the test.

FWIW

Once I thought I had the same problem when I unpacked an archive but I found that sometimes T will reverse the order of edits and WAV/MIDI files in your new folder so try scrolling all the way up and all the way down to see if an edit comes into view. That may not be your problem but it is easy to check.
