My upgrade made that very clear. I don't know if it's different for people who upgrade by purchasing directly from Spectrasonics: mine was a third party upgrade purchased from Sweetwater.

The download manager made it very clear my license only allowed me to download the full upgrade once, and only once. It was quite explicit and mentioned nothing to do with peak bandwidth due to the release. I am taking them at their word and expecting that I will have to purchase something to re-download (or re-obtain) these bits.

It's the part of the upgrade I'm the least happy about.

What's the big deal with a single download? When you download it, it just says "backup this installer so you can use it on other systems..." Is there some reason you can't do that and must be able to download it again later?

Oops, silly me. Overlooked that you bought v1 (in oppposite to others that bought the upgrade).

Yep, this doesn't have anything to do with the server problems. Someone forgot to "inform" the database about grace period serials it seems...

If your hard drive crashes and you discover your backup is corrupt. With Omni1 I have the DVDs to fall back on. But I cannot re-install v2 now from media. I'd be happier if they only let me download it, say, once a year. That'd minimize bandwidth saturation but still allow me to re-download it just in case. I did pay them more than $200, I think they can throw a few cents of bandwidth my direction without me having to pay yet again.

The manual is offline again. Checked some things a couple of minutes ago and all of a sudden it "can't find the manual directory".

From the nature of this error - the manual is plain html - I suspect they've put it offline to reduce server load.

I'm sure that an email will clear it up to get a new download code so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I have all my stuff on two different drives otherwise i couldn't find sleep.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

No, JRR. Uncle E might still be able to help. They are just up the road from him.

theirs no excuse for that kind of customer loyalty. somebody mentioned the steam platform. with steam you can download your product as many times as you want and game files huge. hell, if your bored, you can just delete all your games and redownload them for the anticipation factor. no excuse whatsoever. i guess this is the apple model eric mentioned back when rumours of omni 2 were circling. this whole save money on burning and packaging disk really have seemed to backfire hard. not cool, not the spectrasonics i used to know and not happy.

I have the same issue and I've bought it from thomann where it was clearly stated that it was v2 eligible (there was even a sticker on the box i received). So it's definitely not just you, they'll probably fix that next week as well... hope everyone who bought omni during the grace period won't have to contact them personally :p

I don't think there's any question that they can and will make it right, it's just a shame that you have to go through the hassle.
In rotation here: Helios- Eingya

Hmm, I think that when I am ready to upgrade I will buy the box then. I don't have to rush.
