The subject says it all (I know there's a channel matrix module in MPowerSynth; I assume it's in MXXX as well but haven't yet installed the beta). Can you please give us a hint as to what this does and perhaps in what situations it would be useful?
I looked for presets in MPowerSynth that use it, but I could find none.

Simple - it lets you switch / sum the channels anyway you want
. For example, exchange L and R. Or put mid to L and clear R. Things like that. It gets much more interesting for surround of course. And you can also use the sidechain - so lets say you want to keep left channel, but put the right channel from the sidechain
. Or sum the input with the sidechain, but swap the channels in sidechain...
