I remember when I took my first pc home in 1984...elassi wrote:We all should perform a format on c: every now and then.
(Kidding! Don't try this at home!)
ten minutes after powering up I wondered what f/disc did....
the screen asked "are you sure?"
I said out loud "of course I'm bloody sure, how thick are these things?"
instant $3000 brick.
I'm tired of being insane. I'm going outsane for some fresh air.

True story?
Ah 1984. Man that was an awesome year. Though my personal favorite was 1987, and it has a lot to do with Suzanna Hoffs...
That said a good digital enema of the ol C Drive is indeed a wonderful thing from time to time.

I also can verify that contacting the techshop support email address worked. I just emailed, and said that I had purchased everything I needed to purchase, and that I saw on the site where it stated to contact them (as opposed to "try back next week", like before). Literally within 2 minutes (no joke), I got a reply from who I'm assuming is Eric's wife, Lorey? Anyway, she was very sweet, and sent a link to download it. I went through the short process (enter Omni 1 serial number, verify addresses, etc.), and I'm downloading now, and all is well so far. She only asked that I don't share the link, and tell people to contact them directly, and they'll receive one as well (hopefully they're cool with me posting this here, and they didn't mean to only tell a few friends or something, haha). Good luck though! They were very helpful, and on point.

hmmm...
I´ve seen here that there´s now the option of email
so I did last night...but haven´t reaction till now
but after starting my CubasePro and loaded Omnisphere1 and klicked on "check for updates"-button the following was shown:
Software 1.5.8d 2.0.0e •
Soundsources 1.0.2 2.0c •
Patches 1.5.5 2.0c •
At least one of the components needs to be updated in your system.
did that mean I can update without the risk that I can´t use/activate it due to techshop down?
would be

After some hours of play i can say it's a great beast for sure. I think if i had to choose one synth it would be this. only thing which is still a bit too limited is the sample import and the modulations (i know it's a beast here too but i have even iPad synths with better modulation system).

iPad synths with better modulation?! Omni's modulation is extraordinary, and just got better with double the number of parameters and that fantastic new side window. Only request is I'd like to be able to access that side window from the main modulation zoom page... There may be a way of doing that and I just haven't found it yet.Cinebient wrote:After some hours of play i can say it's a great beast for sure. Sure.... but i used to have 100+ of LFO's if i want
I know Omnisphere has a great modulation system but it's just my personal meaning that there is a more clever way. Also i can't modulate everything (i mean really everything
I'm just still sometimes amazed that a ten bucks synth can beat every big desktop tool in some areas (of course not in general).... but iOS sucks for me in the last month so i gave up on it and use it only as sound source and midi controller (which is awesome). I wish some of these tiny tools (like Sunrizer) will be ported to desktop one day too to get access of more ram and cpu!

No, that's a nice and personal solution to a webshop/payment system overload. And it works, I received my link for my grace period upgrade on short notice, too. Their e-commerce side will be up and running next week, so yes, measures are being taken. And a retrospective will hold valuable lessons learned for the next release.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:is that supposed to be an apology ??mwalthius wrote:Eric posted this on his FB page:

i suppose when you have a captive audience you don't need a 'pr' department. i would have apologised, but maybe i'm old-fashionedmedienhexer wrote:No, that's a nice and personal solution to a webshop/payment system overload.
