Anyone tryed out a way to loop a user patch without granular. I wish i could set loop points as well. Maybe i'm too dumb or i really miss a lot in terms of user sample manipulation. Seems the only way is via mod envelope?!
Why the hell is there no pdf manual. Online manual is not available yet.

guys do you have to ALWAYS start your DAW as admin? this is nuts!

afaik i only see like in omni1 to set the start position and thats it, then modulating with an lfo. i would have loved tooo to set a start and end point with a simple waveform display nothing more
well it doesnt replace alchemy etc. at all sadly, the granular function isnt really a full granular synth (it doesnt want it to be but with sample import it feels so lacking.....) without a waveform display, no loop settingsCinebient wrote:Anyone tryed out a way to loop a user patch without granular. Sad.... also for the first time Omnisphere freeze my whole OS so that i had to make a hard reset. Well, for a 2.0 it's working fine so far but i really hope that there will be additions to the user sample import options. Alchemy is so far behind this. At least able to loop and blend a start and end point of a sample would be the minimum. I really love this thing but the hype was a bit too much after playing with it a while now.Caine123 wrote:guys do you have to ALWAYS start your DAW as admin? this is nuts!

Caine - no, opening totally normally here, no need for admin. (W7 Pro)
I agree with you re granular. Spectrasonics are keen to point out Omni 2 isn't a sampler and that's perfectly fair, but I think a waveform display, start, end and loop points would really make the most of its intended purpose. 2.1!

and Spectrasonics ALWAYS sends me this but i dont want to run my DAW ALWAYS as admin.... this is really driving me nuts. they said there is nothing to fix....
"You must do the following:
Right click your DAW Host Application Icon and go to Properties/ Compatibility. Select Run As Administrator. Apply and reattempt your authorization after installing the latest updates from your User Account while your DAW is closed.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance."

I know Omnisphere is no sampler but again i have some tiny iPad synths which are also no sampler but offers a lot more options to manipulate a user sample. Not in terms of FX etc. but i can set start and end points before i do any modulation and more important i can blend the start and end for a smooth endless loop without hearing the end and start. That would be great for a 2.1 indeed. So half of my ideas with my own samples are useless
Well, i think it's o.k. to be dissapointed with a few things. Sadly now i have to use Omnisphere as sound source for other synths rather than the other way

According to the manual, loop points have to be done in your sample editor before importing into Omnisphere. It would be nice if it could be done inside Omnisphere, but at least there is a way to do it.Cinebient wrote:Anyone tryed out a way to loop a user patch without granular. ok but it would be really tedious especially with the new options of REVERSE etc.DocAtlas wrote:According to the manual, loop points have to be done in your sample editor before importing into Omnisphere. This works. So... then i will read the whole thing first... and then
complain
Edit: Doesn't work. I always go to an empty page if i try to open it....
Edit again: After several trys i could open it. Yeah... you can set loop points before importing. Not the best way but a little workaround.

Again, fine here - maybe a browser cache issue?Cinebient wrote:Edit: Doesn't work. I always go to an empty page if i try to open it....
Good too see Spectrasonics seem to be getting round everyone with busted installs after the Day One horrors. Lots of good service reports, sounds like their heads are back up after the tsunami. Anyone still with issues contact them directly techshop@spectrasonics.net , they've said they're working over the weekend to get everyone sorted, and also taking new custom this way too I think. Full website ordering back next week.
