Without 100 other functions, like Sonalksis free-g ... Is there one of those in the Melda stable?

Thanks -

Do you know Sonalksis free-g?

It is simply a fader that can be put into an insert slot.

I guess the answer is no, as far as this being a Melda product too ... no biggie, I was just looking to see if you had one I could compare.

Thanks -

Well, MUtility ;). It can do more things though, if you are looking for "just fader", then there is no plan for something like that really :).

I have done just that, put MUtility in that insert slot, and it achieves the functionality I'm looking for thank you.

I do wish the GUI could be collapsed so that only the fader and gain are showing, but hey, you can't have everything!

Maybe for V10 ... have an option for "Build your own GUI/display" on Melda plugins so the user can completely control what is on their screen. The sizable GUI is a nice touch, thank you for that, this request would just be for the next step of taking charge of our limited screen real estate.

Thanks!

Hehe, we'll see about that ;)

That is one of the cool thing about Melda plugins - they are so feature packed you can use one aspect of a plugin if you need it and ignore the rest. for example if you are looking for some nice sounding amp simulation distortion and only have say Mrotary, you can turn off the rotaty feature and just use the amp sim, or just the EQ. you get a lot with each plug in.

i think meldaproduction plugins are totally overfeatured. why buying an island if you only wanna bath in the sun? their complexity is not user friendly and oversized.

i like the idea of a free-g like plugin cause its so simple and usefull. but meldaproduction would never develope it cause: 1. another company already did it way better and 2. it would be no highlight for them.

so, why not just using free-g?

Simple - because not so many people share your opinion :D. Once you actually become familiar with audio processing, you'll be able to use the simple features and ignore the rest (the GUI is well layed out for that), but once you need something more advanced, it is there... there's nothing worse than needing something and not having it...

Anyways the plugins are probably not for you. Basically the rest of the market specializes on simple tools you aim for, so I think that's your target. And we keep the rest of the market, who asks for more versatile stuff.

Good example. On that nore, check the preset exchange for a "green bullet" preset I made for MVintageRotary.
