Has anyone ordered an Omni upgrade in the last couple days from the updated tech shop page that says:
"However, if you are trying to upgrade to Omnisphere 2, we can now help you directly.
Enter your email, click "Upgrade" and we will reply to you soon."
or is that just for previous purchasers who are having issues getting their upgrade?

the process to upgrade could not have been easier... straight forward... Spectrasonic did an outstanding job... yes, there were problems with the servers but they had a back up plan... the plan may of not worked the way "some" would like it to... but for me, i sent them an email... they sent be an email with a link... i downloaded the software, installed it and now am up and running... again.. FANTASTIC job Specstrasonic...
i am wondering now is Omni 2 will be the container for Stylus RMX... because it does make logical sense for it to be...

I tried to get the download on Friday amidst the chaos.
When I placed my upgrade code in I did not get a link for the upgrade, so I downloaded the Omni 2 link on my account. I installed this and authorized it.
I now know that this was the wrong file. However I installed it, but my Omni 1 install broke, so I had to do a fresh install.
I have since got the secret link to upgrade/download Omni 2 but when I click on the link I get a message reading that I must have Omni 1 installed and registered (which it is).
I have contacted the guys at Omni, but had no response as of yet.

I have my upgrade also, ok it was a few days late, big deal. They personally responded to my email and helped me get it done. Spectrasonics is definitely first class. Their product is so awesome that everyone wants it RIGHT NOW. Not a bad problem to have.
I'm impressed with Omni2. I can't compare to Omni1 because I never owned it before a few weeks ago. I can say that Omni2 is quite impressive and I do think this synth is going to provide endless opportunities for sound design. Is it an 8 operator FM synth? Nope. I have no idea how to use an 8 operator FM synth anyway. There will always be certain things that other synths will specialize in and have more capability. But with all the carefully selected base samples they have included and the 400 wave tables...there is just endless capability, tons of good sounding filters, the granular stuff and a lot of modulation capability, this thing is capable of a LOT of sound design and in a very straightforward way that is in some ways easier for musicians to grapple with, without having to become a synth programming guru quite as much as some of the other powerful synths out there. Just a few sliders and knobs go a long way in Omnisphere to make a lot of varied sound, by using the right underlying saves and a bit of cross fading and modulation, filtering..and bam....cool sounds. Everything sounds fat and good. A lot of sound sets are going to be developed for this time because it now has so much capability, really a lot of possibility, with user samples now possible, it will be possible to create MULTI's which are somewhat velocity scaled and some pretty advanced sounding stuff... Honestly, I am wondering right now if I will ever bothering using any of my NI plugins ever again...hehe.. This is going to be my main synth for at least the next 5 years i'm sure, probably longer.

If you go to their site, click the Omnisphere pic on the home page > click the Upgrade button (instead of the "Buy Now") it will take you to where you can enter your email address and click Upgrade button to submit.rustman wrote:Was wondering if I could buy my VIP upgrade via Paypal if I email them. This sounds encouraging. Maybe I'll give it a shot. I just don't want to ruin a perfectly good weekend with stress and grief. Hmmmm.
They will send you an email where you can order (and can use PayPal). I did this today and it went very fast. Even though the webshop is still closed, they have put this alternative in place for the upgrade people. (and I am VIP too).

Wow, this seems like a pretty impressive product. I haven't tried it before but this sounds like a must have for any synth enthusiast!

You know, there is something about the sound quality of this synth that is really special. It's very hard to make it sound bad. Believe me, I've tried. Some synths you have to bust your tail to make them sound good. Not this one.

Did anyone from Europe upgraded through Spectrasonics techshop?
I received the link via email in order to upgrade but the price i get (when converting $249 through paypal) is more than €199 (~ €230) so i didn't make the purchase.
I guess i have to buy from a local store (not available yet) in order to get a code on paper
Online shops from Germany or UK have this upgrade unavailable to my country or charge high prices for shipping.
It's wiser to wait...

I did this over the weekend and they got back to me right away - on a Saturday! I was up and running with Omni2 within about 2 hours of sending my email request.macmuse wrote:If you go to their site, click the Omnisphere pic on the home page > click the Upgrade button (instead of the "Buy Now") it will take you to where you can enter your email address and click Upgrade button to submit.rustman wrote:Was wondering if I could buy my VIP upgrade via Paypal if I email them.
