But we do not, really. For the most part, yes, things are available in 64-bit. But there are a few stragglers (the wonderful NI Pro53 comes to mind) that will never go to 64-bit, so there's a need (at least on my DAW) to keep the 32-bit modules in the DAW's search path.MeldaProduction wrote:thanks god we have everything 64-bit.
I just want the 64 bit no 32 bit

I don't know why but my default paths are :MeldaProduction wrote:use the default paths (c:/program files/vstplugins and c:/program files (x86)/vstplugins) and let the host use just the right path.

VST3 has its own default location that is different from VST 2. Steinberg actually gave it more thought this time around and came up with a standard location that makes sense on the PC (I don't know what the Mac convention is, but I suspect it's similar).

Yes, it's the same on OSX. About the 32/64 - yes, there are some stragglers, in which case you can either not use them and find something similar, or just have to deal with it. From what I know, every reasonable host should understand difference between 32-bit and 64-bit plugins and choose the right one...if not, then it can be considered a bug in that host.
