Hi Vojtech

Some ideas here that are definitely within your field expertise:

I wonder if they have accomplished something that gives extra priority to user-friendliness.
Maybe inspirational for you :D

An audio plug-in that analyzes material and offers EQ suggestions?

Sorry, that will never work. It can't read your mind, it has no way of knowing what you want more of or less of. None of these "shortcut" plug-ins ever work as intended, because there's more at play than just time and frequency domain.

:D now that's one hell of a hybrid odd plugin :D

Eq: Thinking that a plugin will know what you want is a nonsense. When it comes for setting up bands, we have it for years in MAutoxxx, but you need to specify "how it should sound". Otherwise it's like thinking that bass should sound the same as piano.

Reverb: Now what the hell? :D Is it an eq or not? Moreover thinking that a reverb give you all the spatial clues is ridiculous.

Harmonic/inharmonic: I'm going to check how this one works. Personally I think it won't work, because most instruments are naturally inharmonic, but there could be a use for some specific cases, well, just one - guitars, these are pretty much harmonics, so the example with reducing picks sounds reasonable.

It indeed is some kind of similar algorithm to MSpectralDynamics. I'm check it now, I have no idea what the EQ is supposed to do, it doesn't seem to do anything here. "Reverb removal" really doesn't do much, but I get the idea. It's funny how it reacts with a delay. Anyway both the 2nd and 3rd part (I just don't get the names, they make no sense) seem like a spectral transient processor, which makes me think of a spectral transient processor! :D Thanks Mads, good idea!

The EQ tries to make it "sound like the classic curve with attenuation in bass and highs". Tried MAutoDynamicEq instead and was much happier. So no surprises here I'm afraid...

yes please! :)

The more spectral stuff you do the better! I'm still looking for nice, modern 64bit equivalents of Sp3ctr3 and DtBlkFx. In my fantasy world you'd make some wacky esoteric spectral plugins like this... I'll keep dreaming :D

Thanks for looking into the concept Vojtech - Good that at least some inspiration was a result in the spectral transient department :D (of course the eq can't guess what a given sound should sound like, still a few tests gave me quick results that worked as good "suggestions" - but yes, it needs to be user-configurable to give any usable meaning).

Hi Vojtech,

I use this post cause I think it's the right place. What about your special mixing wonder plugin? Mpowersynth is out, Mxxx is getting closer with the final version 9 and your special plug?

Thanks and greets

Marek

Hehe don't worry folks, lots of it is planned :D.
Marek: "Mixing wonder" is in progress ;). There will first be some "prewonder" though :D. But first the V9... got some issues on OSX, as always... It's almost a half year for this update :o ...

I wonder what all these wonders are about, but it sounds wonderful...

:D yeah, believe it or not, even I'm not sure how wonderful it will be :D but I hope a lot :D

**Mega thumbs up for 'spectral transient'**

I tried Freiraum demo from a sound desinging perspective; one word: Amazing

The 'prox.' and 'entropy' global control at about zero easily made great pads using an entire song as input (I tried MDrumleveler demo to avoid 'swell')

MXXX/MYYY should for sure include a plugin of this type; with Freiraum I was able to remove all transients *without artefacts/phasing issues* which is a must have for sound desing from audio sources; I havent tried it out yet as layer for 'attack' in a full mix, but I guess it would be more effective than MMultibandTransient which didn't gave what I thought it would (actually, I thought it would do exactly what 'entropy' can do)

Hope to try a MSpectralTransient soon!

Today's Spectral tools garden, could very well welcome your multi-angled intervention

Actually yes, I'd like to rather try something more "generalized", but it's not highest on the priority list really :o :)
