The Rack muting/soloing system is still weird, though!
If you have several racks send to one send effect rack, you can't properly solo any of the racks, except the send rack. That's the only one that acts as expected.
If you solo any of the other racks that are sending to the send effect rack, all other racks are also still sending to the send effect, but you only want to hear the solo rack with its send effect.
In other words: This stuff still needs some careful attention. Currently it's actually quite off! It's going into a great direction, but it urgently has to keep going the distance before being proper!
If you'd say: this is too much work, then you might want to go back to how it used to be, just to avoid the wickedness of right now. At the moment the changes have made the whole send effect implementation unexpected and wacky, especially considering pre/post fader, as we know already.
So I'd say: when you feel energized and relaxed, early in the morning, ready to take on the world with great patience and focus and the total conviction that you can think of having anything better to do, rework the whole rack routing system so that it's born the way it should be and you don't have to squeeze stuff in, you know. I really understand how it goes, you know. Sometimes it's better to just take that deep breath and bite down hard!

Jo, I am using Mulab 6.4.26, please see the little vid, when clicking on a module the editor keeps going back to the Sequence editor rather than staying on the sub track.
Is that expected behaviour ?

Further evaluating/optimizing the rack solo behavior is on the short term todo.Taron wrote:The Rack muting/soloing system is still weird, though!

Yes that's intended behavior. The feature is that when you select a synth/effect window, MIDI focus is put on that synth/effect, and also the sequence editor auto follows that focus. It's to make things easier for you. If you don't want that behavior you can switch it off via the "Activate Module Editor Auto MIDI Focuses Module" preference.bibz1st wrote:Jo, I am using Mulab 6.4.26, please see the little vid, when clicking on a module the editor keeps going back to the Sequence editor rather than staying on the sub track.

Have you checked the preferences for "Make mulab icon appear in lower window bar in case it is missing" feature?
Sorry...

Question: Don't you like the 'MIDI focus follows UI' feature? Would you guys always want to select the MIDI focus by selecting the track, like in most DAWs?

I like the option, who knows when it comes in handy, but I also would prefer it off by default!
I really hope somebody of you is ready to check out when this is awesome and when it isn't, because I know there are moments where you really want it.
My theory:
- when you're editing a mux, you really do not want it!
- when you're "just" making music, essentially selecting instruments you might have open, then you really want it.
I feel there may be some sort of ideal in there somewhere!

For me personally, I can work around it, just need to remember those prefs haha.
Maybe someone who is more of a power user than me should maybe answer that though
