Tracktion download not running after install

On opening my 5.4.2, I got a message saying there was a 5.4.3 for download. I downloaded and installed it in the usual way. Click to run, and nothing - I get the message "Tracktion will not open, it should me moved to the Trash".
I downloaded 5.4.2 again to revert, and that did exactly the same.
I had to use Time Machine to revert to 5.4.2, which opens normally.
I'm on a 2011 Mac Mini 2.3GHz i5 w/2GB RAM. Previously Tracktion ran just fine, and after TIme Machine reversion, it also seems OK.
Why can I not run these downloads?

Don't know. I've googled "will not open, it should me moved to the Trash" and got a whole load listed. I'll see if they have anything in common...
...looks like it's an OSX feature. See if this helps: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/45404/ma ... or-solved/

Thanks, but I already have my security set up to allow non-Appstore downloads to open. Like I said, Tracktion was downloading and opening fine on all previous installations till now...

Try: right (or control) click Tracktion in the finder and choose 'open' from the menu.

You need to exit Tracktion and restart after updating from the in-app updater.

CTRL-click, or right-click, and "open" does not work, I still get the same message with no option to over-ride it.
Neither the website download nor the in-app updater work. I get the same error every time, whether I am trying to run the 5.4.3 or revert back to 5.4.2.
I have not changed my security settings, yet previously all downloads worked fine. I'm only having this problem now.

OK, so in the end I updated to Mavericks (10.9.5) and I can now open Tracktion.
