Even simple binary on/off patterns can be quite cool for rhythmic stuff also:

...especially if you combine a simple pattern like this to establish the pulse, and then use another smoothly changing image over a longer period to create some shifting variations in it...

Post

That doesn’t surprise me so much that simple image/pattern gives usually more effective results than more esthetic ones, inspiring but not really significant on such purpose on rendering, me thinks...

Post

But then the definition of what "effective" could mean, is very, very, very relative.

Sometimes, if you're after random, or moreso, chaos, then a more elaborate image might be better. Likewise, some could build a religion on the sequence of events generated by a special image. Best at 432hz reference pitch.
I'm still having fun creating chaotic images and giving them a whirl. Chop up that chaotic output and there you have it- "found" sounds.

well, the other thing to realize is that with multiple images with independant timings, even relatively simple images produce complex results quite quickly...

Complex other-worldly textures of a completely unique and novel nature are made with ease with KS... This is easily shown with the factory presets and particularly the "Scalar" images in the "New Additions" folder.

Now, I am interested in creating more tradditionally musical structures... ...at least at the moment. Then I will combine them to create hybrid structures... :tu:

A prize for whoever makes the coolest sound with this image:

One KS into Breeze. Nothing else. Internal white noise generator is the source sound:

images are something similar to the family of things I posted in the past few posts...

and a variation of the same general idea:

Something popped into my head...imagine a long "filmstrip" of images and the cursor just scrolling on down the line like a player piano. It would be involved without a pitch template overlay, but one could compose a piano roll for KS. Just tossing that out.

Nice work on the previous sounds, btw. I'm gonna log on and steal your images a little later. :tu:

How about this thought- the ability to assign multiple scales to a series of keys on the keyboard and then you could play chord changes over a relatively static image? Or maybe mapping midi keys on a pitch grid to enable or disable the pitch on that horizontal line in realtime? We're gonna need a new generation of CPUs....

That's what you get for flaunting that snazzy new 4K monitor. :hihi:

The ability to automate tonality changes in some smooth fashion is highly desirable, yes. I have now made about 500,000 scales (not a typo) for this reason and have formulated an entire system for such things... how quickly we will actually be able to do it in KS remains unknown, but it is absolutely a goal!

Denis is reorganizing a bunch of the code to facilitate all of our various goals. A couple things are already significantly more optimized in the working builds we have now. We hope maybe to able to deliver at least a 2X improvement to efficiency overall in the next update. We'll see.

1 KS, 1 Breeze.

all using images like above, this last one reversed, and a new scale from the aforementioned 500,000.
