I think I found a bug:
When turning the volume of an oscillator below 0 via the ModMatrix the volume increases the more it is below 0.
Happens with all 4 oscillators.

Post

Hi Chapelle,
it's actually a feature. When you do that, the polarity of the oscillator gets inverted.
There's an example in the manual on page 41 where this feature is used.

Doh I didn't read page 2. You are the winner then.

I know many think this is a dance synth and not as featured as Zebra but just forgetting what it is and going through the presets it is great for anything such nice presets in HIVE thanks to all the preset makers.

Post

Geiles Teil !!!
big sound
nice look
easy handling
and the presets are "der Hammer". They show the possibilities all around.
Congratz to Berlin :tu:

Now 1.0 version works for me, but I thought there would be a morph section in the hexagon...?

Any how, It works great and sounds even better. I think this is the perfect workhorse because it sounds huge and so low on cpu that I´m amazed...

I think it's better then Zebra2. Lush Diva-esque organic sound, but low on CPU and without too many features so you aren't overwhelmed. This isn't just u-he's best synth, but it's the best soft-synth I've ever used :'D.

All I can ask for are a couple more features to really flesh it out, and we're already getting new waveforms (I'd love a vintage "Eurosaw" ^^) and supposedly FM/Sync to help on the digital side. Not to mention that it looks like the patch-morphing idea for the third hexagon was the winner for much more depth :D.

Love this synth!

The charm with Hive is that it sounds good and is CPU lightweight, if more features needed then Zebra is the natural follow-up, no need to add Hive full of features.

What about "Favourite" - patches?
Is there a function that keeps the old favorite sounds marked?

BTW: congratulations! Hive really turned out to be a gem...

This probably makes no sense, but you know what the pads on this synth reminds me of?
My lovely, much adored roland jv-2080 which I still have but don't use.....the pads on Hive are reminding me of them....yes I know the jv-2080 is ROM........ but sounded fantastic.

Hehehe, that was an oversight - let's call it "viral outlook to the next feature update"

Waaaa, I'm happy to see love for those vintage Roland synth modules!

I'm a big fan of Hi-NRG and Hardcore styles like Eurobeat and Hyper Techno, and they are styles that make heavy use of supersaws, which is Hive's forte. The main element of Eurobeat is a distinct percussive lead supersaw 'synth brass'.

To this day, producers still largely make use of those old vintage Roland synths like the JD-990 or the JV-1080. I'm hoping one of the new waveforms for Hive is that sort of fat, punchy aggressive supersaw/"Eurosaw" (https://www dot youtube.com/watch?v=5TFJYHUjOSc) to compliment the standard, modern supersaw that Hive already comes with :D.

Oversight, my foot. You're just teasing us :D.
