The single setting used to reset similar to the gate setting, now it flows more like the sync setting.
It needs to be said that this has made any sounds I created using the single lfo mode, to not play as intended.
Hope I can fix them to the gate lfo mode, and thereby correct them to sound as intended.
Luckily there's not many.
It now works as it should - single trigger resets the LFO on the first note pressed and keeps going while notes are played in legato. This didn't work as expected with the sequencer and arpeggiator, but now it does. (Howie tells me sometimes it still doesn't, but I wasn't able to reproduce that yet)

Yeah, some are obviously just clicking in the piano roll...
88 keys here - still it's quite handy to be able to automate the mod wheel even if it's not "supposed to" - glad that I can do this with Max4live now. :)

Thanks for the response.

I'm not able to get the Sequencer to modulate the Seq Gate...Is this not yet available or am I doing something wrong. ( mod matrix source seq gate - destination sequencer Gate, then set different values on the sequencer velocity )

It should work, but I'm not sure about the implications of the sequencer modulating itself. I might need to check this out.

The source "Seq Gate" would normally be used to modulate e.g. Cutoff or filter Volume...
I'm not sure what "Seq Gate" (the source) modulating "SEQ:Gate" (the "Gate %" target) would achieve, but we'll find out as soon as SEQ:Gate modulation is working! You can make the connection, but nothing happens yet.

(thinks: we should change one of those names - they're too similar)

I am trying to have the vel values on the sequencer change the length of the notes played through the sequencer. Like they would change if You manually modulated the Gate% knob. I want some notes staccato and some legato ( some short and some long notes).
I also tried modulating the Gate% knob with an LFO. But nothing seems to be happening. Also using constant as a source and gate% as a target does not do anything.

Thanks for 1.0. It's nice.

Hive is my favorite synth.
Reasons:
-It sounds good.
-The GUI is great - Mod drag 'n drop and simple but perfect things like being able to hover with mouse over any knob and the mouse-wheel works.
-Presets for so many parts - just great - thx for the starting-presets
-Solo-button for so many elements
-Nice Presets..
-It is a very idiot-friendly synth. *clicks around shortly in the element-presets of OSCs, amp, filter ->presses key..woah great sound... Blade-Runner.

I have nothing against adding some little things: Cross/fM mod, mapper(like ACE), more osc ..Dunno..like mentioned here before.(if possible)

Sylenth1 retired. (for me)
- WonderEcho -

We know. Gate% modulation simply isn't working yet (as mentioned above).

I feel like I've only learned 60% of Cubase LE4 after using it for about 5 years. For me, another DAW would be a major investment in time (and probably not free). I realized I can't work with Cubase LE4 forever though. I tried GarageBand a little bit years ago, but I didn't like it. Would checking it out in GarageBand be worth my time just to see if I get the same issue? I've never updated GarageBand, and my iMac is about 5 years old.

Urs said, "This was an issue with OSX 10.9 - we have since done a workaround, the unresponsive UI-issue on 10.9 is resolved for good.

It would still be great to know if any other host (i.e. non-Steinberg) on your setup gives you those freezes with Hive. Otherwise we won't have a chance to reproduce the issue… it would furthermore help to know what Mac/CPU you use."

I brought this up a month or two ago also: using (purchased or demo version) Hive (now 1.0) with Mac OSX10.6.8 and Cubase LE4, the gui often locks up, even when I slowly change patches, or tweak virtual controls. Then none of the controls work, can't change patches. Often happens every five minutes or so. Then I have to remove that track from Cubase or re-boot Cubase.

Unfortunately we do not have access to this combination anymore. We might have 10.6 around, but Cubase LE4 can't be obtained anymore.

Does this also happen with any other VST2 host? - In that case we could probably debug it.

It hasn't done it in several months, though Arturia ARP2600-V used to do that to me pretty often. I am assuming an update fixed that. If I do stuff too fast on Arturia Analog Lab, it might lock up once in awhile, but that's when I have two synth emulations running on one Cubase track (a combination thing), so that puts a strain on the computer. I don't recall a u-he program giving me this much trouble (with this issue) with my current set up. I would really appreciate it if you could fix it, because it gets frustrating. I also own Diva, ZebraHZ, and Presswerk. I've tried demo versions (or free ones) of every u-he product made in the last ~4 years. Thank you. I tried (trial version) Cubase Elements 7 with Mac OSX10.9.3 roughly a year ago & that gave me major issues with Zebra & Diva (virtual controls did not work at all most of the time) and couldn't even open some of my Arturia stuff. That's when I reverted back to Mac OSX 10.6.8. I realize u-he probably fixed that, but I'm afraid to try a newer Cubase again until I get a newer computer, but that could be years from now.

Strangely enough, I played around with Hive for more than an hour tonight, and it did not act up once (no gui lock-ups). Maybe the queen bee calmed down the swarm somehow. Will be interesting to see how long it stays on good behavior.

It is a good idea to do a clean install.
Completely deleting the older versions, then reinstall.
This worked for me from the last version update, as I had strange issues, then throwing out everything associated with the older version and reinstalling fixed it.

Howard is correct.
It works sometimes, but then other times it works the same as gate mode.

Happy Birthday Howard

Was able to try hive 1.0 on windows today.

Just wanted to say that hive is a amazing piece of software. The sound is so nice and so full. Really awesome.

I'm really satisfied. Worth every euro.

Thanks a lot
