Hive is pretty nice, developers engage with users, copy protection unobtrusive, regular updates.. it's like almost everything I wanted from LennarDigital, but with a nice new interface and is actually something I can use right now.

And, it's vastly deeper in terms of Modulation possibilities. The possible mod destinations include things like every stage of the ADSR envelopes, among numerous others. For programming, it makes Sylenth look like a cheap toy.
Why am I even posting here....oh yeah, checking back to see if Sylenth will ever work on a modern Mac again. Answer: of course not.

Waiting for Sylenth 64 bit is an absurdist play by Lennar Digital, in which two characters, Vladimir and Estragon, wait endlessly and in vain for the arrival of a 64 bit version of a virtual instrument named Sylenth. Sylenth's absence, as well as numerous other aspects of the play, have led to many interpretations. Sylenth was voted the best VST instrument of the 20th century by the Computer Music Magazine, despite the inability of a large number of Sylenth's owners to continue using the outdated version of the instrument.

We are saying the same thing, as a large number of Sylenth owners are Logic users.liquidsound wrote:Or just Logic users....pmczar wrote: despite the inability of a large number of Sylenth's owners to continue using the outdated version of the instrument.
You may be missing the joke, though...

Or just anyone else who's using a 64bit DAW and won't use wrappers to convert formats.liquidsound wrote:Or just Logic users....pmczar wrote: despite the inability of a large number of Sylenth's owners to continue using the outdated version of the instrument.

I have the same issue with Oatmeal and since I use it a lot I just go 32 as far as I need and then...
It all depends how much I care for that particular instrument. I agree that it would be a fair act to have Sylenth 64 by now, unless he's working on the next generation synth and devoting all the resources to that.

...as I said above, this is like Waiting for Godot. He never came... Let's just move on. There are plenty of other synths from developers who take their customers seriously...

I have a feeling that Lennard is so worried about copy protection and people stealing his work that he's gone blind to the fact that these delays are killing any hopes of people taking his company seriously anymore.
Webpage still says they hope to get it done in the 2nd half of 2014.. Well shit, we're in the 2nd half of 2015 now and the only thing anyone has seen is a jpg posted to the facebook group..
Doesn't look good!

No, silly. 2nd half of 2014. Read the website. Websites don't lie.stiltskin wrote:Pretty much. 2nd half of 2015, or 2016? 2017...
So just wait until 2014 comes again, which I can only assume will be after the next saviour arrives and we reset the calendar again, and then 2014 years go by. 2nd half of that year.
